EP 040 - Glory Trail to Augusta

Let's reminisce about that Thursday you spent at Augusta National. Oh, you didn’t? The year Tiger won his 5th? Welp, Charlie did. Charlie starts with his trip down south with the Top 25 university courses he played and whiskey he drank as the anticipation builds for Thursday. After an early morning drive that sounds like something out of a fictional novel, his experience unlike any other included the ceremonial tee shot (sunrise golf), merchandise (of course), walking the entire course, brushing shoulders with Augie-flow-favorite Tommy Fleetwood (almost), finding out who no-cell-phones actually applies to, insider information from an Augusta Nat’l looper (a caddie, a jock, a pro jock) including a game of “what’s more dangerous”, and yes, food and beer. More you say? Ok, there’s more. The back nine is where Charlie has his “oh shit” moment on the hallowed grounds. Chairs on 18 green... oh he’s got that too with more close encounters. Pull up a chair, grab some beers, fire up the flames in Butler Cabin as we enter the Glory Trail to Augusta.

Ep 038 - Brad Gehl talks PGA Tour China and The Hangry Project

In celebration of Brad’s one year anniversary of being on the pod, we crack Pacifico and Three Floyds Alpha King. He cracks the craft ownership beer in a Bud Heavy. Brad makes his one year anniversary appearance on the pod. He discusses how his 2018 played out on PGA Tour Latinoamerica, changes he made to his game and details his plans for 2019 on PGA Tour China following the Charlie Saxon model after a successful Qualifying School experience… look out - 54 watch! Of course, we bring up El Camaron and Brad shares who he’d standard bearer for on tour. Check out Alan Shipnuck’s story on The Shrimp. The Honda Classic comes up with Keith Mitchell winning it this year, even though he’s never won on Latin or Web. Brad shares his opinion on the difference between the players on the Web and PGA Tours. We also talk about the difference between what we play for (not checks) and what pros like Brad play for (checks). Philanthropy? Yup. Brad details his Hangry Project and how being hangry, skateboarding and refrigerators all fit together. Check it out and buy some gear with their cool logo to help stock a fridge for kids. We shut it down with the Scramble topics of favorite club, club working on the most, China beer and our favorite things about Arnold Palmer… Brad hear an (un)verified story of why Arnie was call “The King”. Brad adds his song/group he’s been jamming to a lot lately while practicing in Alabama Shakes… tune in to hear what song he went with. Charlie adds another song dedicated to all those grinders out there. And again… Hangry Project Hangry Project Hangry Project… go now!
