About Us

The Perthian Chronicles is a ten year project seeing curious fellow, Ryan Marano, creating verbal sketches of the passionate people of Perth. And to hopefully revisit these chronicles and their authors in ten years time for a recap. So like a fine wine these chronicles will appreciate with time but for now its tastes like a bitter Rose.

Fringe World Festival 2019 Ch 5: FEMME

For some, performing on a stage can be a scary activity...well imagine that not only you're performing, but also stripping down to your bare ankles...Shedding your clothes and potentially societies constrictions in order to reveal a truth about the world. Concluding our last stroll along Perth's Fringe World Festival, Ryan talked to the Performer, Writer, Scholar, Pinup Model and Former-Burlesque Artist Iskra Khan (FEMME, Paper Mountain). You're about to hear a passionate and heartfelt chat about the history of burlesque, the stigmas around sex, understanding love and the show FEMME.
