Email Privacy is Flourishing in The Netherlands

On Kim's recent travels to Europe, she pops by the headquarters of Startpage, located in The Hague, to discuss the evolution of their email component of their organization, called Startmail. After many years of being on a privacy mission to keep peoples searches safe, Startmail has been one of the few Email Services that has managed to make PGP, (Pretty Good Privacy), accessible to the average person, without having to be a programmer. Based in The Netherlands, the company is poised to scale the service so that more people around the world can protect their electronic communication from massive surveillance, archiving, third-party interlopers and more. Tough questions are asked of Alex Van Eesteren, Starmails Early Adapter and EU Media Relations Director. If you ever wondered if you are really doing the right thing by using your free email accounts with all of your personal and professional information, this segment will be a useful way to reconsider if it is really in your best int...

The Magic & Mystery in France-Election Time 2017

The election in France was so important that you would have really thought it was aglobal election. The entire world was on pins and needles. Paris was buzzing with excitement and expectancy. So much was riding on who would be the winner and what would happen to France and the EU if either Emmanuel Macron or Marine Le Pen would win. I made a commitment to go to interview Marine Le Pen. This commentary is about sharing with you what unfolded. In a country that I had virtually no introductions, no point people, friends, family or colleagues, the trip was complex and yet, it was filled with passion and commitment. I met many wonderful people everywhere I went. There were bumps in the road, lot's of excitement and expectation in the air. There was also sudden elation and then quickening disappointment. Did I just experience a missed opportunity? Magic came in unexpected twists and turns that only comes when you step into the unknown and become fully engaged by being there. This commenta...

The Call for Transformational Leadership

It's one thing to lead when you have the authority to act on your own accord, on behalf of your own team, or, with people in your own country. It's yet another to lead when you're forced to be answerable to those people who're not accountable to you, who have legal power and authority over you, who were never elected by your people. How do you lead your own country, when outside entities are your overlords? How do you deal with the fact that your country has no legal standing, no real voice, no ability to determine its present and its future? How do you lead without waging war and inadvertently taking your beloved country down in a battle to the death? How do you navigate and speak into the realm, a possibility for a future that appears to be deliberately distorted, silenced and even ignored? This is the dilemma that many countries find themselves in, who are in the midst of one of the worst economic climates and markets in history, whose runaway economic policies and austerity meas...

Making & Delivering Commitments

Global Systemic Transition is not just three big words. It's what has been unfolding for many years. Billions of people are suffering, not just because of global growing pains to connect and grow as a whole, but rather, because, the international space of treaties and activities has it's roots in systemic secrecy. The internet has brought millions of people together with still more coming in at a fast pace and yet, it has also caused unrecognized complications in doing business, acquiring capital, acquiring correct information and securing intellectual property rights on a mass scale. No more is anyone just doing business locally, even when they think they are. The US is importing more food than ever before and the food prices are only at the beginning of the inflation scenario. Globalization has impacted our lives in ways wecan't even imagine. While synthetic and unethical economic activity, products and laws are ensnaring entire markets, totally false GDP conditions are touted as ...
