We discussed about the growth and the challenges of creative industry in Indonesia, and how the education system is required to make adjustments in the industry's rapid change. Born in 1983, Alvin Tjitrowirjo is a graduate of RMIT University, Melbourne and IED European Design Labs where he obtained his Bachelor of Industrial Design and Master of Arts in Product Design respectively. In 2006, Alvin established his own furniture design company, alvinT, followed by a brief stint with world-renowned designer, Marcel Wanders in 2009. His work has been exhibited in various international exhibitions including Asian Star in Singapore, Asia Talents in Bangkok, Ambiente Messe Frankfurt and Salone del Mobile Milan. Fun fact: we experienced power blackout halfway through. But that did not stop us to record thoughts and perspectives through a regular mac's mic. Hope you had good perspectives out of this episode, as much as we had fun recording it!

“Design itu adalah hidup, design itu adalah art.. if you want to live to the fullest, you have to know your inner art” – Iklim Tan Iklim Tanumihardja (IG: @iklimtan) is the founder and the principal of Aurasia Design. Iklim went to Universitas Atmajaya and Universitas Indonesia. Upon finishing up his bachelor degree, he worked at a contractor company where he learned and executed all aspects of building, and even won projects by memorizing the entire building blueprints. His design and architecture hallmark is sustainability in minimizing environmental impacts through efficiency and moderation in use of materials, development space, and the ecosystem at large. "Bangunan di PIK itu mahalnya adalah di tiang pancang... karena bangun rumah di tanah yang bekas rawa." - Winny Wijaya We talked to Winny Wijaya (IG: @winnyelw) of OMA Architect (IG: @oma.architecture). It is an architect firm based in Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta. We got connected over instagram, collaborated for a project. But interestingly enough, we never met until we got together to record for this episode. We discussed about: 1. The importance of lighting -- (tip: rose gold lighting works well in fashion retail). 2. Foundation and structural importance in building houses in Pantai Indah Kapuk and Pantai Mutiara. 3. Individual branding for each projects, in the form of comic books. 4. The benefit of starting out as a contractor before moving forward to become an architect or interior designer. Enjoy!
