Episode 7 - Getting to Gender Parity without the awks

When I worked at REA group in 2016 I created the REA podcast, initially as a "hackday" project that became a 10 episode bonanza that you can still access here(while stocks last)! Episode 10 of that podcast was a talk that I gave on 10 'Hacks' to help us all - but particularly Men in tech, create a more inclusive atmosphere at work for Women in tech, first at YOW CTO Summit then on several other occasions. This recording was to an internal audience of Tech Leads at REA who are a group of people keen to support and help us create equality in the workplace, as indeed are REA group in general, a very supportive crew. REA was a spark for WiseUp Guru in fact, as that's where I became an active mentor of Women in Tech, so it seems somehow appropriate for this episode to appear here.

Episode 1 - Mike Breeze on mentoring women in technology

I chatted with Mike Breeze recently about mentoring women in technology and the program that has been in place at REA Group since 2016. We talk about how mentoring can increase confidence and therefore remove barriers for women, and we talk about the frustrating reality of your ideas being 'claimed' by men in some interactions, even when it not consciously or maliciously done. Contact us if you have any ideas that you want to hear discussed on the podcast in future episodes or if you think you know what Mike and I are laughing about at the end :)
