Preparation for Visitation

The Triumphal Entry, is a day of visitation. As Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem, we see one last applaud from the Father meant to spur Jesus on for the days to come. Preparation for Visitation

Empowered by God

When we consider following Jesus and fulfilling the mission we called to, we are faced with the reality that Jesus’s ministry was summed up well in the gospel of Matthew. It say ” Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed the.” (Matthew 4:23-24) Matthew continues to tell us that Jesus commanded the twelve (Matthew 10:7-8) “As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give, and finally commissioned them to (Matthew 28:18-20) “then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to ...

Keep the Unity

In Ephesians, the principle of Christ’s headship is carried to its largest results. The centre of the Church becomes the centre of the universe. God’s plan of the ages is disclosed, ranging through eternity and embracing every form of being, and “gathering into one all things in the Christ.” (Ephesians 4:1-7) As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.

Jacob and the Blessing Pt.2

The blessing and the birthright

The birthright is emphasized in the Bible because it honored the rights or privileges of the family’s firstborn son. After the father died, or in the father’s absence, the firstborn son assumed the father’s authority and responsibilities. In addition to assuming the leadership role in the family, the recipient of the birthright inherited twice that received by the other sons. The birthright of a king’s firstborn son included his succession to the throne. As New Testament Christians, we have an inherited “birthright” status through Jesus Christ as the firstborn Son of God. As God’s only begotten Son, Jesus received the kingdom from His Father and is Lord of all. Christ promises to share with us His kingdom and inheritance but, we are warned not to imitate Esau who, on impulse, gave away his birthright for a bowl of stew. Because of his foolishness, Esau lost his birthright and the blessings of his father.
