Luke 13:6-9 “God’s Patience Toward Sinners”

Exodus 32 “The Hardest Message I’ve Ever Had To Preach”

Originally entitled "Spiritual Authority", this is probably the hardest message I have ever had to preach. It is a hard message about idolatry, worship preferences, and the call to fear the Lord. It contains a sober charge to the congregation to submit to Christ and to the elders as they submit to Christ. It also contains a charge to myself and the other elders that we might fear the Lord, seek the will of Christ, and rule in the church accordingly.

Exodus 32 “The Hardest Message I’ve Ever Had To Preach”

Luke 12:32-48 “Are You Ready For Christ?”

Have you ever waited for an important phone call, holding onto your phone, or if you are old enough, sitting beside the phone patiently? Were you ready to take that important call? Jesus tells us that He will be making a very important call, and we don’t want to miss it! We must be ready for His return!

Luke 12:32-48 “Are You Ready For Christ?”

Luke 12:22-31 “Don’t Worry, God Provides!”

Many of you are parents. You love your children dearly. You would go to great lengths to make sure they have everything they need. Now I want you to consider how you would feel if you had plenty of money, and if your young child was worried that you weren’t going to feed them tomorrow, or the next day, or the day after that. Wouldn’t you want them to know that you love them and will always provide for them?

Matthew 13:24-33 “Satan Among Us”

How do we make sense of pastors leaving the faith, churches splitting, church opposition to outreach and evangelism, and other inconsistencies between the actions and beliefs of the church? While Christians still sin, unbelievers in the church may wreak havoc as well.

Matthew 13:24-33 “Satan Among Us”

Luke 10:25-37 “Loving Others”

Some people are hard to love. Mercifully, Jesus gives us a love which is far greater than our own, a love which is strong enough to move us even to serve our enemies.

Luke 10:25-37 “Loving Others”

Luke 8:1-15 “Pitfalls of Faith”

Christ gave us this parable to explain why so many fall away from the faith after once making a profession. This parable also serves as a warning to us to avoid these pitfalls of faith in our relationship with the Lord.

Luke 8:1-15 “Pitfalls of Faith”

Luke 7:36-50 “Only Sinners Allowed”

Jesus accepted a sinful woman and forgave her sins. But the religious man who knew and taught the Bible was too arrogant to admit his need for Jesus. He lived in denial of his sins, and he worked too hard to protect his reputation to give it up in a confession of his sins. Consequently, he neither needed nor loved Jesus. Let us listen carefully to the Word of God so we do not make the same mistake.

Luke 6:46-49 “Knowing The Truth Is Not Enough”

It is not enough to know the truth about God and about Jesus Christ. Knowledge cannot get you into heaven, nor can it guarantee a stable life. One must build one's life upon the truth. In this parable, Jesus calls His followers to build their lives upon Him, the Solid Rock, the Firm Foundation.
