Nebraska NIL and Car Stories

EJon had a near-miss on his morning commute this week. Greg’s work truck is a barely-functioning POS. So we start the show swapping some car stories. Name-Image-Likeness is a hot topic these days, with legislation passed in California. Now one Nebraska State Senator is introducing legislation for student athletes to receive compensation. The Nebraska Men’s Basketball team (and the women’s, presumably, right Jill?) is in action in some big match-ups in the next week, with a road trip to Rutgers on Saturday and a home game against Michigan Tuesday on ESPNU. And we love you and hope you enjoy the show. Be sure to “Use Your Voice” and became a part of the show by calling (402) 327-1830. Or Facebook and Twitter, which are below. The Five Heart Podcast publishes each Friday morning, and if you subscribe to the show on one of the following podcast apps, will arrive on your device or playlist automatically. Kevin and Nate then review the losses to Indiana and Wisconsin. Nate actually has some nice things to say about Kevin Cross. Some...nice things to say about Kevin Cross. Then they list off, at this point in the season, the three things they were right about and the three things they were wrong about. It was fun. Please join us! Nebraska Lost To Ohio State And We Sound Like It

In tonight’s episode we discuss Nebraska’s most recent loss to the mighty Buckeyes of Ohio State. It wasn’t as bad as the football teams loss to them, but it wasn’t far off. We also discuss Cam Mack and the possibility of him getting the single season assist record. Then we dove into such records and found that the chances of him getting it are, well you will have to listen to find out on that one. Kevin goes into his history with the Big Ten’s newest and second favorite school Maryland. You should all enjoy that. Finally, we discuss our views on a hand full of college mascots. Penn State, Kansas State, & Clemson all get thrown under the bus. I’m sorry if you are a fan of those schools but what we mentioned was a long time coming. Thanks again for listening and please subscribe to get all of our episodes. Rutgers, Io_a, and NW Thoughts

The Huskers lost two games we thought they should have won and won a game they probably were expected to lose. This is how the season will likely go. We talk about the stretch among other things. One thing to point out. If you are questioning whether Hoiberg is a great coach...look at the fact he brought one player back. Thor. Love for Nebraska and 2010s

Nebraska goes 1-1 over the past two games. A loss to North Dakota was a step back. The win against Texas A&M Corpus Christi was a step forward. The win against Texas A&M CC was a little underrated and we say why. Then we talk about our favorite Nebrasketball moment of the past decade. Then our top five favorite sports moments of the decade. Then we descend into random stuff which we do. Please join us! A little later than I would have liked, but life happens. I join up with Drew Schneider of the SBNation Clemson site, Shakingthesouthland.com for a conversation about the Tigers and their appearance in the 2019 College Football Playoff. We talk about: Dabo Swinney playing the “disrespect” card and why it makes sense Clemson’s rise to dominance Why Ohio State fans do NOT want to talk about Clemson What needs to happen so the elite programs stop stockpiling great recruits Trevor Lawrence vs Justin Fields What’s going to happen in this game Please Subscribe!
