Is there conflict between one’s identity as Jamaican, and one’s identity as Muslim? YS (S. 5 ep. 7): Analyzing the PEP exam

First it was the “Common Entrance” exam, then it was the “GSAT” exam, now, we are heading towards PEP - Primary Exit Profile - for Jamaican students. But are these continued revisions to standardized exit exams for primary school students improving overall scholastic aptitude? Have these students truly gotten a taste of critical and analytic thinking from these curriculums and are they better prepared for high school as a result? Now that the Ministry of Education is embroiled in a corruption scandal, will this derail the plans for PEP? The Yardie Skeptics plan to tackle these and other questions related to the standardized PEP exam this Sunday, March 24th at 12:30pm DST (11:30am Jamaica time). Joining us live on air is a veteran teacher in Jamaica, Ms. Carol Levy. Tune in, and tell us whether you think PEP will make a difference!

YS Radio (S. 5, ep. 6): Conversation with a Psychic

Are you feeling anxious about life? Uncertain about your future? Overwhelmed by your circumstances and the fact that you can’t see any way out? Well perhaps it’s time you got a “reading.” Join the Yardie Skeptics this Sunday, March 17th at 12:30pm [Daylight savings time, 11:30am Jamaica time] as we have a conversation with Shawn-Dee Scott a spiritual therapist who combines therapeutic and “psychic” practices in a bid to assist persons who are struggling with various aspects of life. With alternative medicinal practitioners going mainstream today, perhaps it’s time the Yardie Skeptics open their minds to the possibility that our bodies need more than physical healing — or are we simply witnessing the normalization of con-artistry? That's what the Yardie Skeptics want to know when we return this Sunday, March 3rd at 12:30pm EST to get to the bottom of the recent social media debate surrounding the raunchy(?) photos posted to the Instagram page of the Mona Law Society (MLS). In an attempt to promote their 90s themed Mr. & Ms. law show, the MLS posted pictures of four female law students to their IG page. in what some consider to be revealing dancehall attire. Well, all hell broke loose when a prominent name in the legal fraternity withdrew his support for the event and roundly chastised the MLS for the scandalous post.
