Jade Talks Brains

EHello and welcome to the first episode in a series about brains; specifically how amazing they are. How often do you actually think about your brain and all it can do? What's weird if you think about it, this episode is essentially my brain talking about itself. There's much to discover and discuss when it comes to brains but understanding how brains work is fundamental to ensuring we live our best lives possible. I'm not sure exactly how any episodes there are going to be about the brain, but as I gather new research and information, I'll release sporadic episodes. Of course if you have something to add, please contact me. Here's all the links I mention in the podcast; 1) The Female Brain by Louann Brizendine 2) Evolve Your Brain by Dr Joe Dispenza 3) Dr Joe Dispenza website 3) ASMR Videos You Tube 4) Human Navigation Experiment 5) Music Memory Experiment in Berlin 6) UK Car Crash Victim Speaks French 7) Australian Car Crash Victim Speaks Mandarin 8)Jade Talks Poetry 9) Compass by Jade Jackson 10) Jade Talks Travel. Jade Talks Poetry

Words are powerful tools, use them wisely. As such, poetry is the ultimate craft. Using words to create powerful emotions and to evoke physical sensations like goosebumps is almost witchcraft. In this podcast episode hear what inspired me to write my first poem, how poetry shaped my writing career, and you’ll also learn how to create your own beautiful poem. Anyone can write poetry after listening to this podcast episode. If you want to know more poetry terms, you’ll find an online dictionary here. If you would like further details on crafting poetry, I recommend A Poetry Handbook by Mary Oliver If you love the content I produce and would like more, then please head to my website https://jadejackson.com.au. If you want to hear or read more of my poetry then check out my patreon page which is www.patreon.com/jadejackson and if you wish to say hi, you can tweet me @jadekinsjackson, on Insta @jadekinsjackson and facebook @jadejacksonphotography. Please share your poetry with me, I’d love to read it out on a future podcast episode! Don’t forget to check out my other podcast, Travelosophy. Thanks for listening!

Alcohol Free

How is it possible to stop drinking alcohol? Contrary to popular beliefs, it’s entirely possible to live without alcohol. You can celebrate, watch sports, relax, be romantic and even enjoy New Years without an alcoholic drink. How? and more importantly why stop drinking alcohol? In this podcast episode I talk about how I have been almost six years alcohol-free (and counting) and the joys and benefits that has brought to my life. You don’t have to hit rock bottom to remove alcohol, you just have to have a desire to sleep better, enjoy longer weekends, and increased productivity in life. No gimmicks, no tricks and certainly no sales pitches. It’s all in the brain. For a list of alcohol free activities, check my blog post here. In this episode I mention a video ‘How to change your brain’ by Dr Joe Dispenza. You can also find his books here. thanks in advance :-) If you love the content I provide, then please head to the support my podcast page for really easy ways to ensure I can ...

Jade Talks Losing Everything in a House Fire

In 2013 my parent’s house burnt down and we lost everything. Even though I was living in New Zealand, before I moved, I stored everything I owned in their attic. So 30+ years of stuff, was now all gone. Despite the initial tragedy, and thankfully all my family was fine; however there was an unexpected positive outcome from it. Losing all my stuff meant I came to realise that stuff doesn’t really matter. It doesn’t define us, it doesn’t make us a better person. Sure it was devastating to lose all my travel photos, but I still have the memories, (which I share in my podcast, Travelosophy). In this episode you’ll hear how the events of that day unfolded, what it was like to walk through the rubble, and how things transpired, years later. With the recent devastating bushfires in California, it’s a timely reminder that losing stuff isn’t the end of the world, because you can always buy more stuff. As long as people are safe, that’s all that truly matters. Thanks for listening! If...

What to do in an earthquake or tsunami.

You’ve arrived for your relaxing tropical getaway, you’re having breakfast when an earthquake strikes! What do you do? In this episode hear what to plan, how to prepare, and why you should practice in the event you find yourself in a disaster zone whilst on holiday. As an Australian, I’d never considered what an earthquake might be like, or what I should do if there’s a tsunami, until I had lived in an earthquake prone area. With the recent earthquake and tsunami in Sulawesi in Indonesia, I thought it highly relevant as the more people travel, the higher the chance they’ll find themselves caught up in a natural disaster. I also share my experiences and reccomended government guidelines. Once you’ve finished listening to the podcast episode, then tell me what you loved about it! It gets lonely being a podcaster so please say Hi! Death, Dying and Living

EIt’s time to talk about death. Not because I’m I’m dying (well, we all are really) but because it’s unavoidable. There is no escape from death’s clutches, and by not talking about death, we’re missing opportunities, to ensure we live our best life possible. This episode all started because of an app that helpfully reminds me five times a day, that I’m going to die. The impact of this has been bigger than I imagined. I also chat to Margot, a freelance writer from Georgia, USA who along with her sister, helped to euthanize her mother (exactly as she had asked). Hear the impact that event had on Margot’s life, and how you too, can use the knowledge of death, to actually live. You can find Margot online here. If you love this podcast, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts or your favourite podcasting app. If you want to say hi, then tweet me @jadekinsjackson or send me a message on facebook @travelosophypodcast. Clouds and Cloudspotting

In Jade Talks Clouds, you’ll be inspired to look up, and admire the beauty of clouds. You’ll learn the basic cloud types, and more importantly why you should add cloud spotting to your hobby repertoire. Regardless of where you are, who you are, or your political stance, clouds are above it all, free for anyone to admire. Without clouds the world would be a sad and unhappy place. Without clouds, there’d be less marriage proposals, art, poetry or songs. In a world where nothing is free, clouds are beyond corporations, unable to be tamed; their wildness gives us hope, that freedom from societal binds, is not only possible, it’s available for everyone. Next time you’re outside, or near a window, look up and be spellbound. To check out my blog post on clouds which includes some incredible cloud photos, click here.
