About Us

My name is Lindsay Lesage and I wear many hats. I am a fairly new mom to my 8 month old baby girl and we live along the shores of Georgian Bay Ontario with my husband and our little Maltese Poodle Jean Luc. I am a French Immersion Teacher, a Yoga and Meditation Teacher and I am also a trained Psychotherapist. I have a lot of experience in the mental health and wellness field and I myself have struggled to cope with my stress response in difficult times which has resulted in anxiety and depression. Did you know that it takes work and practice to change your brain to see the positive? If you’re ready to listen in, learn new tips and strategies to change your thinking and hear stories from other people who’ve done the same then you are in the right place! The purpose of this podcast is to inspire, educate and have fun with our over arching theme of gratitude. Listen in to hear about how this whole gratitude thing came about. Be sure to go to mygrtitudeattitude.com to sign up for my newsletter and receive my 5 super easy ways to start a gratitude practice. How to Be a Feminist with Thordis Elva

Think that feminism is something that only activists can practice? Think that being a feminist means being anti men? Think again! Thordis Elva, renowned TED speaker, author and Activist gives us insight on how to add feminist practices to our daily lives. One particularly great take away was how to incorporate this notion with our kids. If you follow Thordis on Instagram you will get a glimpse into the way that she raises her three boys and especially her eldest son Frey who has more than once stood up to bullies at school because of inequality towards girls in his class. What I love about Thordis is her passion and brilliance for these huge issues and also her ability to share her vulnerabilities in real life and being a mom to five kids and also her sense of humour. If you haven’t already listened to her incredible interview all about the unbelievable story of her twin baby boys, bed rest and their premature birth then head back to episode 32 and hear her amazing story about how social media helped carry her through this really difficult time in her life. Today is a big topic but so important to talk about. Lessons From Retired School Teachers, Wendy Calvert-Morris and Jill Calvert-Goetz

This week I have the pleasure of speaking with two of my former colleagues and now retired teachers Jill Calvert Goetz and Wendy Calvert Morris. These two ladies are veteran teachers who are not only best friends but sisters. I wanted to have them on the show because they have been so influential in my own teaching career and with this rapidly changing school system and the teaching job itself I have found it so valuable to have mentorship and advice from colleagues who have more or less seen it all. My favourite take away from this episode is the advice that both Wendy and Jill give to newer teachers. If you enjoyed this episode with Wendy and Jill head over the comments section and leave a review and if you’re a teacher let us know the advice that you would give to a new teacher; and tune in next time for more game changing tips on the My Gratitude Attitude Podcast! Remembrance Day

This week's episode is in honor of the veterans for Remembrance Day and anyone globally who has been affected by war. When I think about Remembrance Day, I think about the people who willingly signed up for some of the most treacherous, dangerous and uncomfortable duties and jobs and how they did it with pride and enthusiasm knowing that they were heading into something that was greater than them on an individual scale. My grandpa was part of a generation that selflessly marched off to war with pride and honor. Let's remember those incredibly resilient and brave souls who marched into the great wars but also for those wars since and ongoing. Let us remember those who have been affected by generational trauma and PTSD as the residual effects are brought back with the veterans. Let us not judge or scoff at those modern day warriors who are choosing to champion sacrifice and soldier on for a cause greater than themselves. Let's remember that when we decide to show up for something, that we do it with pride and honor the way that our grandparents did. Understanding Burnout and Compassion Fatigue with Diane Liska

Welcome to the My Gratitude Attitude Podcast! Today I am joined by the amazing Diane Liska as she helps us distinguish the difference between burnout and compassion fatigue. Diane is a registered Psychotherapist with a wealth of knowledge and wisdom about nervous system health. If you have ever felt overwhelmed at work, this episode is essential to gain insight and understanding about what is going on inside and when to access support. Honestly, I wish that this episode had been available to me back in 2015 when I had to go on leave from teaching due to a tapped out nervous system. Once we gain a better understanding of what is going on we can start to move forward to healing our stress and overwhelm and get back to doing what we do best which is teaching! Diane is a Registered Psychotherapist and Certified Yoga Teacher with a private practice in Owen Sound, Ontario, offering herYoga-Informed Psychotherapy. She also provides online consulting to support bodyworkers and other healers in navigating their own personal work to cultivate healthy therapeutic relationships, expand scope of practice and increase effectiveness in client-related work.
