Episode 109: Meeting of the Minds with Bari Mitzman, Chani Erenthreu & Franciska

B”H Welcome to Jewish Latin Princess. I’m Yael Trusch, your Host. Today I have a special episode for you. I’m kicking off the new year getting together with Creative Entrepreneurs and fellow podcast hosts Chani Erenthreu, Bari Mitzman and Francisca. What did we talk about? Well, something that is not often discussed but as you will see from our conversation, it’s actually quite important: money and our financial lives. This is the first of a series of collaborations that the four of us are doing. We’ve called it a Meeting of the Minds. And I look forward to being on their respective shows. Chani hosts the podcast Boss Maidel, Bari hosts The Woman of Valor Podcast and Franciska hosts The Franciska Show. So, be sure to check those out and you will catch me there in the next three weeks or so – give or take some changes with the choppy Tishrei schedule – speaking about different topics. As I said, the topic that I discuss today with these lovely ladies is money, personal finance. And I have to tell you these women were brave. First of all, we kicked off our series of four “Meetings of the Minds”, with probably the hardest topic. Second, they had absolutely no prep whatsoever. Third, being so early in the game we did not all know each other yet and hadn’t developed the same chemistry and love for hanging out together as we developed over time. I mean, to say that our closure on our fourth show together over at The Woman of Valor Podcast was bitter sweet is not an understatement. We totally wanted to stay talking to each other more. So, all that to say that I am so incredibly proud of Chani, Bari and Franciska for having done this, as you’ll hear very little feedback from me. In a way I felt like I threw them under the bus because given that this was our first time recording together – so many of us together – it was tricky for me to manage how much to add to what they were saying. One, because I needed to be mindful of the audio tracks and not speak over them otherwise you can’t hear them. And also, because I needed to be mindful of the time. But, I think you know where I stand on many of these questions and if not, I’m happy to share and talk more about this on future Jewish Latin Princess episodes. I’m thrilled with what you’re about to hear – this entire conversation. Because despite the fact that my guests are younger than I am, in some cases a lot younger than I am, these ladies have their head on straight when it comes to money. We talk about spending, saving, earning, how do we manage it within our marriage, lessons learned, tzedakah and more. My guests were very honest and as you’ll soon hear very relatable. Here’s Chani Erentroy, Bari Mtizmanm, and Franciska. Episode 108: Talia Carner, Author of The Third Daughter & Human Rights Advocate

B”H You’re listening to Jewish Latin Princess, I’m Yael Trusch, your Host, welcome to the show. Today’s guest is Talia Carner. Talia is a fiction writer who gives voice to those without one in society. She creates awareness, opens people’s eyes to human rights’ issues, and paves the way for social change. Her advocacy work has taken her to the United Nations as the first person to ever present at the U.N., on Infanticide in China. A tireless advocate for human rights, Talia just published a new novel, titled The Third Daughter. Inspired by Shalom Aleichem’s short story, “The Man From Buenos Aires,” The Third Daughter tells the story of a young Jewish woman, and many like her at the turn of the 20th century, who were lured from antisemitic pogroms in Russia into Buenos Aires, Argentina with the promise of a good life, only to be forced into a life of prostitution and abuse. Before turning to fiction writing full-time, Talia worked for Redbook magazine, and was the publisher ...

Episode 107: Ask Yael with Special Co-host Kayla Levin

B”H Today is a special episode on Jewish Latin Princess Podcast because it’s Ask Yael time, one of my favorites. This is when I answer your questions, about Jewish life, motherhood, finances, spirituality and more. Today we have a lot of questions to tackle, most of them came through my Instagram @yaeltrusch where you direct message me. This is what’s on listeners minds today: How does a “money date” take place? And what if my husband is not into discussing and paying attention to our personal finances too much? Do these money dates suggest we’re leaving G-d out of the picture? A career in art and finance – can you help me find it? Self doubt and rejection, how do we deal with it? Loosing my cool with my young kids way too often. What do I do? And to help me tackle these questions from listeners, I share the mic with special co-host Kayla Levin. You may remember Kayla, Marriage Coach and Creator of the Podcast and Course First Year Married, from Episode 92. You may also like ...

Episode 104: Devorah Sisso, Speaker & Creator of Breakthrough

B”H You’re listening to Jewish Latin Princess, I’m Yael Trusch your Host! Today we have a friend of the show, Devorah Sisso. Devorah was with us back in Episode 11. So much has happened since then. For one, Devorah has moved to Israel, to Eretz Israel, she’s revamped her signature course Breakthrough and she’s also created a mini course based on the concepts in breakthrough but involving the Torah’s views on physical health. She’s called it Breakthorugh Body, a 14 day detox meant not just to clear toxins clogging your body, but also, clear your mind, boost your energy and allow for more mental and spiritual transformations to occur. Sounds great to me! And when I heard about it, I said, “You have to come tell the Jewish Latin Princess audience!” It’s not the first time I hear about people doing detoxes which are not just physical, but that ultimately help them spiritually as well. Devorah and I explore this further. And listen till the end cuz she’s offering you all a 10%...

Episode 103: Abbey Wolin

B”H You’re listening to Jewish Latin Princess. I’m Yael Trusch, welcome to the show! How’s your summer going? Mine is great! Although I won’t lie, it’s a bit intense around here, between me trying to get ready for the National Jewish Retreat, where I’ll be speaking four times, on different subjects, and getting my kids ready for sleep away camp etc. Definitely a lot going on. And today’s guest knows all about that. I have the wonderful Abbey Wolin. Abbey is a dynamic business coach, who wasn’t always a coach. In fact, she’s learned about business in the school of hard knocks. Like many of us, she’s had to pivot several times. She’s had to push herself out of her comfort zone in order to build a business that was scalable, and profitable. But as she achieved this, she also realized that she loves teaching women how to do this; how to build businesses, so she launched the 30 Day Biz Challenge and became the Program Coordinator for the JWE or Jewish Woman Entrepreneur. Episode 102: Libby Kiszner, Author and Writing Coach

B”H You’re listening to Jewish Latin Princess, I’m Yael Trusch your host. Today I have the author of a new book for teen girls, Dear Libby, Will You Answer My Questions about Friendship?, Libby Kiszner. Frankly, the book is not just for girls, I’ve read it myself (as has my daughter) and I really enjoyed it. Libby has written other books and she’s also a Writing Coach with a unique approach to creativity and the craft of writing. Much to learn here on how to really create from a place of calm – admittedly, I seem to have a lot of work to do in this area. But, this is something that Libby practices herself and teaches her clients to do. Where did the idea of this book come from? Why a universal message, rather than a more overt Jewish book, this time around? We dive into her coaching and we explore her mindset when it came to choosing a career in writing. In particular, how money was never part of the though process and where did that mentality come from? Libby experienced her ...
