Throughout my journey of pregnancy, labour and parenting, I’ve chosen the less travelled path of doing things more naturally. We have all fallen into patterns from societies conditioning and expectations, but I realised there was often another way of doing things. The Mysteries of Elimination Communication Explained

Babies instinctually resist soiling themselves, their sleep space and their caregivers right from birth. Amazing right? However it seems to be something that not many of us are aware of. Elimination communication (EC) means tuning in with your baby’s signals and timings to offer them opportunities to go toilet. It has SO many benefits which I share on this episode along with the different journey’s my friend Rike and I went on with EC.

I share the surprisingly challenging journey I went on with breastfeeding where Fern didn’t feed from my breasts for 3 whole days. In hindsight there are things I would have done differently to allow a more natural approach to feeding. I also discuss scheduled feeding vs feeding on demand and how I have managed to make night times with a newborn almost effortless.
