Every time I see someone struggle with this particular area, I'm like, "You know what, you should talk to me." This is the person who struggles with opening their emails in a way that hooks people. So I’m giving you 11 tantalizing email openers that grip people from the very first line and then jolt the brain into action. Now, one of the things that's super important, and I really want to spell it out here, is that the email hook has a specific job. The job of an email hook is to sell them the open, the click or the scroll, that's it. The job of the email hook is not to sell them the thing. How do you do that? That is the million dollar question, my darlings, and here's the answer: You do that by making sure that each email that you send opens at a really high point. Then from that high point, it naturally leads into the next line and the next. I like to call it my first breakup theory of emails, which means that, imagine if you're telling a story to someone. If you're going to write it in an email, I don't want you to start the story from "boy meets girl" start that story in the email from the moment they have their first breakup because that is the most exciting part in that relationship. If that means opening your story from the very end, that's absolutely okay. Just find the highest point in the story and then go from there, open your email from there.
