About Us

This Podcast is dedicated to the top notch professional musicians out there who live in relative anonymity because of the vagaries of the biz. Yes, there are heavy hitters in the studios from the coasts but I want to give voice to the unsung heroes of local free-lance scenes out in the rest of the world. I also want to offer a place of learning and idea exchange for newer musicians. There are great ideas being shared here by a diverse group of musicians.

Interview with Jeff Hedberg of C11

My interview with trumpeter/vocalist, Jeff Hedberg was truly amazing. Our wide ranging discussion is made even more compelling due to Jeff's master story telling skills. I think listeners will find his story compelling and inspiring. I've featured two tracks for his recordings and included the names of all the sidemen.

Interview With Trumpeter, Drew Hansen

This episode of Duets From The Trenches, Musicians You Should Know is an interview with Drew Hansen, trumpeter, composer, arranger, educator. This is a linger interview because I felt it important to do minimal editing of our wide ranging conversation and wanted to include a full track from his remarkable CD. We had some technical problems with the interview itself, but I salvaged it as best I could. I think this will prove to be an inspirational listen!

Duets From The Trenches hosted by Nick Drozdoff - Episode One: Dave Frolichstein Interview

This is the first show of the new Podcast Series: Duets From The Trenches. This is an interview with the brilliant free-lance trumpeter from the Chicago area, David Frolichstein. Dave was at the top of his game when the music industry changed in the late 80's and left, only to comeback playing even BETTER now. His story is a MUST HEAR for all aspiring professional musicians or even seasoned pros who could stand to hear a different perspective. To find out more about Dave's story go to his website, http://www.frolicsteinfinancial.com/ Also, I've sort of an Easter Egg hidden in here. Many of my listeners are trumpeters, and for a bit of fun, Dave submitted a G over double high C submission that is included here. Listen to find it! ;-) Also, PLEASE give us 5*, if you feel you can. I need the help starting out.
