T.I.M. Podcast 6: HOMEwork // Tie for Jack // Y'all is Fantasy Island

Hey ho! This months podcast is a bumper edition, not only have we got interviews and music from the bands who played the Sneaky Pete's stage at our 3rd Birthday celebrations last month, we also have a special report from This Is Music in Leeds which just started up in April. So our 3rd Birthday night was a mega success. We had two separate gigs running at the same time and both were well attended. At our regular venue of Sneaky Pete's we had young Edinburgh upstarts HOMEwork and Tie for Jack sharing the stage with relative old timers Y'all is Fantasy Island (they are about to make their 5th album!). Across town in the hip basement hang out that is The Bowery the line up was more folk influenced with the delicate tones of Rob St John and his "super-group" backing band kicking off proceedings. Rob was followed by New York based underground darling Mike Bones. Finally Edinburgh heroes Broken Records took to the stage for another passionate set of up lifting Scottish-Eastern-European-fo...

T.I.M. Podcast 4: Over the Wall // RBRBR

Hey all So this podcast is a little late, sorry. Tallah managed to loose the disk with the interviews I did with the bands at the March This Is Music. So this episode is a little different..... Our March night was an other packed-to-the-rafters blinding affair. First on were Glasgow duo Over the Wall who did a great job getting the crowd at Sneaky Pete's into the party mood with a fantastic set. The boys were so keen to get going the they went on before their stage time! That's dedication for ya! Local lads RBRBR lit up the stage with their bouncy grooves, flashing tshirts and fairy lights! Apparently in the run up to their set at This Is Music RBRBR's laptop wizard Dan almost burnt him self trying to hook up a strobe light to the inside of his helmet for the show. Dont try that at home kids! Thankfully in the end he decided not to go ahead with it and the band lived to play another amazing set. After the bands our friends from Playdate spun some cracking tunes into the wee small ho...

Last month we all learnt How To Swim with Meursault

Another day another dollar, another month another blogger..... Last month This Is Music was pretty darned exciting! I know we said that our January night was possibly the best This Is Music we'd ever put on, but truth be told I think this one was just as brilliant, if not more so. People were queueing. Queueing! Unfortunately, I was on the door when the bands were on so I couldn't really see anything. What I heard though, was ace! First up were Glasgow million-piece, or more accurately, ten-piece, How To Swim. Since 2006 they've released a series of EP's, and in Spring of this year are set to release their debut album. They're a really fun band, and they make very exciting, fun and interesting music. Next up were our headline bandido, Meursault. Darlings of the Edinburgh music scene at the moment, they really can't seem to put a single foot wrong. During the gig, a queue, which I mentioned earlier, formed. We hit capacity half way through How To Swim's set, and so it became 'one in,...
