One Month into the Van!

One Month in The van! After one month do you want to kill each other? How the hell can you begin to make this decision to move into a van “less than 50 square foot but more life per square foot.” Would we ever go back? F*ck no!! this has been the best decision we have ever made. Moving out of the apartment that was costing us $1600 a month was slowing forcing us to be indoor and stingy people. By doing this we became much more able to travel wide and far. Alesha & Kodiak Her Side Moving into the van meant losing a lot of space and creature habits. Some of the most painful were what Kodiak calls my “goo.” This was everything that I had collected in was of lotions, bath products, and shampoos. it was hard to start to get rid of this stuff, however, it became so much easier once I realized I never used any of it anyways. Previous Next His Side Even though I had much less to get rid of I still had a hard time letting some things go. Mainly it was things like shirts and sweatshirts. ...

Thailand Review

[paypal_donation_button] Thailand in review part one Ok so we have done a lot of articles about the relationship side of our website, but not a whole lot of travel. I have talked about being in Thailand a lot in our podcasts so I thought I would dive into what I loved about Thailand and what I think you can skip. I also am going to do two Thailand review article because my trip was two very different parts. Length of time I spent a month in Thailand. It was super exciting! I was also really nervous. I didn’t know the language and I didn’t know anyone there. I went on the trip as part of a volunteer group at the Elephant Nature Park which is located very close to Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai is one of the largest cities in Thailand. I would suggest that you go for at least two weeks when visiting Thailand. First of all, the plane ticket is typically very pricey. Paying a couple thousand dollars to go to a place for only a week doesn’t make much sense to me. Secondly, spending that much ...

The six things part two

How to balance the six things in life.

Six Things to Balance in Life Recently we had a discussion In the car and determined that there are six different aspects in our lives as full time working college students. These six different things are all interconnected, however they make up six distinctly separate groups. What brought this up is kind of interesting. We were discussing topics that we wanted to cover after a trip to Steamboat Springs. From that discussion we determined that there are different parts of our lives, especially now that we’re getting busy, that need to be taken care of. The six different things are; love life, work, school, hobbies, social life, and overall health. Love life So because of our podcast this is a pretty obvious topic. That’s also why we will be diving into this one first. This one can be tricky and not necessarily relevant for everyone out there. The things you do can vary wildly depending on where you are in your love life. Whether or not you’re in a committed full-time relationship...

Making You Great

What is it that makes us great? There are many things that I can think of off the top of my head is the idea that we are both willing to work at this relationship. Now I know that this advice is out there everywhere but it’s never that easy. It’s like listening to a beautiful violin player and upon asking how to play she retorts, “You just do it.” It’s utterly aggravating and quite frankly kind of a put down. So here I will give you a great look at what working on a relationship looks like and also what it takes to get to that point. This road isn’t an easy one and it takes a lot of self-analysis a lot of being able to see what it is that the other person really means. Not to mention the patience that it takes to actually do these things. So let’s dive in. leading this discussion will be some questions that we will answer and discuss. First how do I become willing to work on this? Second what can I do to help my significant other want to work on this? And lastly, how can inte...

Making You Great

Hi and Welcome to our first Podcast

Hi and welcome to our fist podcast! We are very excited to show you guys how there is hope and always a reason to travel. In this podcastwe talk about who we are and what it is that makes us want to travel. About Us Hi! Our names are Kodiak and Alesha and we have been together for three and half years. Both of us love to travel and realized that with traditional lifestyles we wouldn’t be able to travel nearly as much as we wanted to. About half way through college, after working to 9 to 5 jobs for the government for two years, we decided that we didn’t want to be stuck in one place by buying a house or by having a full time job that we felt obligated to. We plan to become location independent to travel the world and explore different cultures. We realized that traveling doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. After hours and hours of listening to travel independence podcasts and reading tons of articles we finally decided this was the lifestyle for us. In our blog we plan on cover...
