Fishing As Religion | Fisheries Reform Act Part II

Passions and tensions were high as a citizen-group of commercial fishermen, sport fishermen and environmentalist traveled around the state seeking public opinion on fishery policy. This special 3-episode Lo & Behold season chronicles the story of the 1997 Fisheries Reform Act (FRA), a bill that dramatically changed the way North Carolina's coast was fished and regulated. Back then rapid development, overfishing and pollution gravely threatened North Carolina’s coastal habitats and communities. In this episode, we hear just how bad things were.
