The Sharks have fired Pete DeBoer: What's next?
This is officially an "emergency podcast", following breaking news from Wednesday night that Pete DeBoer has been fired as Sharks head coach. Here are the deeper thoughts and perspective now that the dust has settled.

Winless in December
The Sharks have lost 5 in a row, and once again must utilize a lengthy homestead to turn around their season. I'll discuss some observations from the skid - plus: what it's like behind the scenes when you're covering a team that's struggling. I've got some foundations to share.

Dave Stewart is on... Twitter
STEW is also on this podcast and discusses: 1) How we should feel about the Astros cheating? 2)Status of "underpaid" Minor Leaguers 3)What REALLY happens at the Winter Meetings? 4)A's 2B job, and lots of great options 5)Can the A's go with a really young catching tandem? 6)Best projected starting rotation since... the 90's? 7)Does a Marcus Semien contract send a message? 8)The NEW 3-batter rule for MLB 9) The A's bullpen = their biggest question mark?

November to remember in San Jose
In this episode... a few thoughts on the uprising of minor league baseball and hockey athletes who are sharing unfortunate stories of their journeys for the first time. And what about the month of November for the Sharks: would we have seen major change if the team didn't turn it around by now? Fortunately, we'll never know.

The Sharks have won 8 of 9, and...
San Jose is officially rolling, but are they capable of even more? In this podcast: 1) 12-11-1 is their first winning record of the season 2) The Sharks have won 2 straight dressing 7 defensemen 3) San Jose tied a #TwoOrFewer NHL record 4) Back to back statements by Dell & Jones 5) The streaky season continues... we're on chapter 4. 6) The PK has been a bright spot, but don't test it 7) The Sharks are 8-1 with Simek in the lineup... coincidence? 8) Last 2 OT winners... Logan Couture solidifying his captaincy?

After 36 hours in Las Vegas...
After a quick getaway to Las Vegas, I've had some new realizations about it's new identity as a "sports town". And although the Bay Area has a huge rivalry with Southern Nevada right now, I actually have some complimentary things to say about what's happening there.

The Sharks game is recovering from "illness"
The Sharks have won 3 in a row, distancing themselves from a span of 7 losses in 8 games. Just like the common cold, hockey "illness" comes on quick, but takes a while to get healthy again. Also addressed in this podcast: - Will the Sharks get a new arena in the next decade? - Personal routines getting ready for pre/postgame shows - Too many alternate jerseys in sports? - Stephen Vogt coming back to Oakland? - And more...

I'm here to answer your (Sharks & A's) questions.
Some great topics to discuss: are people being too negative about the Sharks? What's with all the Woo-ing? Will Simek's return start a turnaround? What about Marcus Semien for AL MVP? Those questions plus... burnt pancakes... on this episode.

Seven things the Sharks need ASAP
It's been a frustrating and sometimes confusing campaign for the San Jose Sharks so far. Inconsistency has been a unfortunate theme, with the team losing 4 straight, then winning 3 straight, and now having dropped 7 of their last 8 - including 5 in a row. Here's 7 things the Sharks need, ASAP.

We must escape the trend of California wildfires
It's scary times in Northern California, with high winds fueling huge wildfires... but, how can we stop this from becoming an annual occurrence? Also (11:44) it's MLB's awards season coming up, and the A's are deserving as ever for individual recognition. And (21:17) the Sharks -- how can they respond after already hitting a low note just 12 games into the season?
