Waiting Well for Jesus' Return

Do you expect Jesus to return today? If not, according to Jesus, that's precisely the kind of day he will. Waiting well is one of the hardest tasks we've been given. Thanksgiving & A Wealthy Fool

In this famous story, Jesus offers a critique - a warning really, on wealth. And interestingly, the problem with wealth, isn't wealth! Rather, it's the all too common attitude toward and uses of wealth. What are you doing with your wealth?

The "Unreasonable" Cost of Following Jesus

One of my pet peeves while shopping is being unable to find the price tag of an item. Either it's tucked away inside or there are multiple prices or there isn't any price tag at all! Jesus was very clear about the cost of following him and it pretty much boiled down to "take it or leave it!" What will it cost us to follow Christ?

The "Unreasonable" Cost of Following Jesus

More Than Meets The Eye

Ever noticed how most people have several sides to their character? Depending upon the circumstances, we lead with different qualities. At work, you may be more assertive (if you're a navy captain!). At home, you may be more laid back. It's the same with God. Psalm 29 reveals two important sides to his character. How familiar are you with these sides of God's character?

We Have Reason to Praise

Is praising the LORD something you practice? When we praise God, we're drawing attention away from ourselves and putting the focus on Another. We're admitting our neediness and boasting about God's competence. How do we do this? Psalm 147 can help us enter more thoughtfully and enthusiastically into the holy practice of praise.
