Choosing Positivity | Interview w/ Michelle Russell

What do you do when you feel defeated as mom? When youâre having a tough day, and when everything seems to be going wrong? Are you just trying to get through the day, counting down the hours until bedtime, in hopes that tomorrow is a better day? Weâve all been there. But is that all motherhood is? Is there anything you can do about how you let the challenges of motherhood affect you and how youâre experiencing this life? Can you experience motherhood in more positive way? Today I had the joy of interviewing Michelle Russell, from the Positive Moms Podcast, where we talked about the importance of a positive mindset, how to turn things around when you feel defeated, living intentionally, rather than just coasting through motherhood, the shift that happens when maybe yeah we feel overwhelmed, but we choose how we take responsibility for our thoughts and feelings and what we do next, and the difference between being REAL, and being positive. 10 Small Daily Steps To Change Your Life | Breakdown Of The Mama Miracle

The Path To Deeper Connection | An Intimate Conversation Between Mother & Daughter

Do you ever worry that what you do, or maybe what you arenât doing, is going to permanently screw up your children for life? Do you often wonder if youâre repeating generational patterns, or if the traumas and struggles from your childhood may be affecting your parenting? Or do you ask yourself if youâre doing everything you can to have a healthy relationship with your child? At some point I think weâve all had those thoughts and fears and concerns. Now listen, this week is my birthday week, and today I wanted to bring on my very first ever guest on the Motivation For Moms show, and itâs none other than the one and only woman who brought me into this world 31 years ago this week, and that is my beautiful mother, Juliana Cocola. Juliana is the founder and facilitator for the Empathic Arts Institute that provides resources, peer support, education, publicity and creative space for those who are engaged in fields of work that help people. Prior to starting the Empathic Arts Institute, she was a young mom at the age of only 19, she became trained as a full time minister, and later became a woman in media as a producer and director of local television programming, and has always been an educator and entrepreneur. Today, I have immense respect and appreciation for the hard-working businesswoman and the deeply emotionally attuned person she is as a mother and as a grandmother, but our relationship hasnât always been close and connected. For most of my life, of course, I loved my mom, but Iâd call our relationship very surface level. Today, my mom and I are having a very real heart-to-heart about some of the challenges and struggles that weâve had through the years, how she made the decision to end generational patterns of disconnection, and what she has to say to moms who maybe feel like theyâre failing. In this episode, we talked all about: How to be with pain How to end generational patterns of disconnection and emotional disregulation Parenting from the inside out How your childâs age might trigger past traumas you experienced when you were that age How to use your current relationships to clue into what you might need to heal from your own childhood How your therapy can radically change generations after you, how your personal work can have a ripple effect How the positive personal work youâre doing and your attempts to establish connection with your children can have even more of a powerful effect then all of the negative you might be worried about, and, How our âmistakesâ as parents can actually be a blessing to our relationship with our children Be sure to get out your notebook for this episode because there are SO many gems that youâre going to want to jot down that I think, are going to leave you feeling empowered, encouraged, and motivated.

3 Simple Ways To Feel More "Together"

The Answer To Success

Youâre someone who is into personal development. You likely set goals for yourself. You likely have a vision of what your dream life looks like and youâre working hard to make that life a reality. But, as a mom, thereâs not always a clear path to our success. There are always unexpected challenges that come up that can distract us from our goals, and the exhaustion of being a mom itself can easily cause us to lose motivation and get off course. Today Iâm posing the question: What is the difference between those who succeed in anything, and people who donât? What is it that makes or breaks whether you reach a goal, or whether some new habit sticks, or whether you reach whatever outcome it is you want in your life? See I believe thereâs 1 important distinction. And I believe if let go of perfection, gave more attention to just this ONE thing, I think youâd see the outcome of more of your goals and aspirations in your life. The Answer To Success

What is True Self Care?

Iâm taking on the topic of self-care today. Youâve heard the saying over and over again, âYou canât pour from an empty cup.â This may surprise you, but today I want to call bullshit on this overused advice for moms. Because you and I both know that when it comes to our kids, we find a way to keep giving to them, even when we are totally exhausted and burned out, donât we. We have superpowers like that. And honestly, the quote unquote âself careâ that weâre often advised to take like it were a magic pill or something, sometimes just isnât enough for us to feel fulfilled, satisfied, and fully rejuvenated. So today, Iâm taking a new spin on the idea of self care, Iâm sharing what I believe you really need when it comes to self-care, and lâll be sharing some practical tips to make self-care not just a once in a while treat, but how to redesign your life so that youâre never feeling like youâre lacking, but you feel fulfilled, energized, satisfied, and happy every single day. Does it sound too good to be true? Stay with me girl, I got you.
