Moonstruck: The Full Moon and Human Behavior
EDoes the full moon affect our behavior? There's a widespread belief that the moon, especially a full moon, makes people go a little crazy and leads to more violent crimes, ER visits, births, and disrupted sleep. Not to mention, um, werewolves. In this episode of Psych Club, we investigate the lunar effect and find out if there's any scientific evidence to support those beliefs (maybe not the werewolf mythology so much). Dr. Tracy brings the science, Wyatt brings the laughs, and you'll come away a bit wiser and more curious about the world around you!

Therapy 101: Intro to Counseling
What is therapy? Why is it useful? How is counseling with a therapist different than speaking with a friend? If you're curious about what really goes on in a therapy session, then this episode is for you. Wyatt shares his experiences with donation-based counseling, Dr. Tracy namedrops her favorite movie (hint: it's about the power of therapy!), and they both reveal their controversial(?) opinions of 1990s Looney Tunes apparel. Check out psychclubpodcast.com for more!

Food and Booze: Alcohol Use in the Service Industry
EThis week Dr. Tracy and Wyatt are joined by special guest, Hannah Shea (Twenty-five to Life). Hannah opens up about her experiences waiting tables and shares her most hilarious/honest/heart-breaking insights into restaurant culture. We also learn what researchers have discovered about the drinking habits of restaurant employees and explore the link between alcohol abuse and the service industry.

Your brain will be filled with so much neuroscience goodness you'll want to start training for the Memory Olympics (it's a thing!) like two-time world champion Alex Mullen. Don't forget to cherish the mems!

Fat and Blood: The History of American Nervousness
EWhat do national parks, wealthy Americans, and Moxie soda have in common? More importantly, what IS Moxie soda? Answers to these questions and more in this week's episode of Psych Club! Dr. Tracy and Wyatt dive into the weird, wonderful world of an old timey psychological diagnosis known as Neurasthenia, or American Nervousness. Listen as our hosts uncover Neurasthenia's mysterious origin story and try to make sense of the popular but oh-so disturbing cures espoused by experts at the time.
