About Us

Hosted by Beej and Travis, Cinema Sandbox is an opportunity to play around in the giant sandbox that is cinema. Whether it be creating a hypothetical sequel to Beetlejuice, rebooting The Breakfast Club, or just generally changing a movie for better or worse (To Kill a Mockingbird... but in space!?), they're here to explore the great and not-so-great "what ifs?" of the movie world.

Episode 5: Macgruber Vice

Two Cinema Sandboxs in the same week, you all are a lucky bunch. Travey and Beej talk about 40 minutes of a 5 year old Tom Cruise movie, dive into Deadpool 2, and defend the recent box office bust, Solo. They then take three films that don't have a sequel and pitch their ideas to the studio for the sequels you are all dying to see. They end with their opinion of what are the best and worst films in the Star Wars franchise. Hope you enjoy Beej talking way to much (which Travis loves) and the hosts somehow disagreeing on Attack of the Clones.

Episode 4: Genre Swap!

The boys are back and better than ever with their most subpar episode yet! The boys begin with even more Infinity War talk and then some quick thoughts on the wonderful new videogame, God of War. The meat of the show is the guys picking 5 films that they think would be better as a different genre. If you ever wanted to hear two overweight dudes talking in their basement about 50 First Dates as a horror film, man oh man have you come to the right place! Finally they close things out with their Top 5 favorite remakes. Come to see if one of your favorite films would be better as a space opera musical and then stay to see if the guys somehow bring up Dennis Villeneuve again (short answer...they do). Enjoy!

Episode 3: Travis Hates Wilson

The guys come out of the gate with that hotInfinity Wargossip that everyone has been clamoring for (spoiler-free, of course). They then get their joysticks out to discuss the video games they think would make great movies, thus breaking the chain of terrible videogame adaptations. This week's top five has the guys picking characters they hate from movies they love. This episode has everything: cotton candy analogies, Beej mispronouncing words, and Travis yelling about inanimate sports equipment.

They actually made a second episode! This week, Travis and Beej discuss the spine-tingling A Quite Place, the tense, atmospheric The Ritual, and the hilariousBlockers. The guys then discuss their favorite movies that the rest of the world is wrong about. That's right, their five favorite movies that scored under 30% on the Rotten Tomatoes' tomatometer. The episode ends with the guys getting their crystal ball out and making wildly ill-informed predictions for what will transpire inAvengers: Infinity War. There may even be a Howard the Duck reference.
