About Us

David Wolfe, Gareth Kirwan and Stephen Fennessy, former film students and occasional film makers, watch and review one film a week from the IMDb top 250 films of all time. We also discuss what other movies we've been watching lately and touch on the biggest movie news of the week.

Latest Episodes

30. Dog Day Afternoon

Back from their hiatus, on this episode David and Stephen are discussing Dog Day Afternoon. At the start of the show we talk about season 6 of Game of Thrones, so if you want to avoid spoilers, skip to 7 mins, 36 seconds! Stephen gives us the usual Scandinavian TV Update, this time it's an icelandic show called Trapped, which seems to give off a bit of a Twin Peaks vibe! We touch briefly on The Conjuring 2 and Independence Day: Resurgence before getting on to our main topic: Dog Day Afternoon, starring Al Pacino. Next week's IMDb entry: Shutter Island Thank you to Stephen Ralph-Fennessy for our intro music. We do not own the rights to audio from any of the films discussed.

29. Before Sunrise

On this episode, Gareth and David give a final opinion on 10 Cloverfield Lane, go a bit deeper into sci-fi land with a bit of talk about Midnight Special. Gareth also watched My Name is Emily, the newest work from acclaimed writer/director Simon Fitzmaurice. This week's film is the first entry in Richard Linklater's 'Before' Trilogy, Before Sunrise. We've already watched the sequel, Before Sunset, so we might as well find out where the story began! in the news we discuss the upcoming films Demolition starring Jake Gyllenhal, and Batman: The Killing Joke, the much-anticipated animated film based on the graphic novel of the same name. Next week's IMDb top 250 entry: Dog Day Afternoon Thank you to Stephen Ralph-Fennessy for our intro music. We do not own the rights to audio from any of the films discussed.

28. La Haine

So far, so good! We're back this week with possibly our most anticipated (by us) film on the list so far! La Haine, the stylish French drama gets top billing this week. Also touched upon are Attack the Block, 10 Cloverfield Lane and Fair City... yeah. In this week's news we discuss the Rogue One trailer, and we get back to the contentious issue of the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack! Next week's IMDb Top 250 entry: Before Sunrise Thank you to Stephen Ralph-Fennessy for our intro music. We do not own the rights to audio from any of the films discussed.
