Interview w/ Matthew Tompkins on THE HARROWING, SICARIO, and LONGMIRE

EMatthew Stephen Tompkins, born in Washington D.C. and raised in Oklahoma City, is an award-winning Actor and Indie Filmmaker/Producer with over 45 feature films, 80 TV roles, and over 100 professional plays to his credit to date, and currently makes his home in Dallas, Texas where in 2007 he founded the successful Independent Film Production Company, Wolfclan Productions. I had Matthew on the show to discuss his latest film THE HARROWING that will be released on VOD Christmas day. THE HARROWING is about a vice detective who is determined to discover the truth behind the ritualistic killing of his best friend. The film is perfect counter-programming for the holiday season, a genre film with more on its mind than jump scares and gore. THE HARROWING is worthy of your support, make sure you check it out.

Interview with Josh Clark of STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW on THE END OF THE WORLD

Today my guest on the podcast is Josh Clark. You probably know him from Stuff You Should Know, but I had him on the show to discuss his latest project, The End of the World. On this new show, Josh will discuss the existential risks humankind faces and assess how they may be coming in the form of the technology we’re beginning to develop today. He will be joined by a number of experts across the podcast’s ten episodes, from astrobiologists to philosophers to economists and transhumanists. You can find his podcast wherever you found this, so make sure you give it a listen. It's a fascinating show that manages to bridge the gap between information we need to know and the information we want to know. And that's not nearly as easy as it sounds.

Interview w/ Josef Lorenzo and Maribel Lopez on AMERICA FROM SCRATCH

What if we made "America From Scratch" today rather than 250 years ago? Would 12-year-olds be allowed to vote? What if there were no states? Produced by Rewire as part of the Twin Cities PBS "In It Together" initiative. Today my guests are Josef Lorenzo and Maribel Lopez. Interview w/ Roger Bart on GHOST LIGHT

Roger Bart is an actor, known for The Producers, American Gangster, and Desperate Housewives. Today I had him on the show to talk about his work on the film GHOST LIGHT. The film is a dark comedy about a disgruntled summer-stock actor who contemptuously disregards the superstition surrounding Shakespeare's tragedy, Macbeth. By doing so he unleashes the curse of The Scottish Play and wreaks havoc on the company.

Interview with N.O.N. Director Zebulon Zang

Heartbroken and flat broke, Greg struggles to reenter the workforce and suffers a series of seriocomic indignities, including sitting through a motivational speaking session in a gymnasium and single-handedly crewing an experimental film. As Greg's excursions take him through Vancouver's suburbs, office spaces, woodlands, bookshops, basement suites and galleries, his existential dread steeps. In turn, director/multi-disciplinary artist Zebulon Zang reveals himself to be a keen observer of human nature (and accompanying ludicrous behavior) who is capable of mining rich absurdity from the seemingly mundane. Today I had Zebulon on the show to discuss the process of bringing his unique vision to the screen. N.O.N. will be screening at the Vancouver International Film Festival on September 30th and October 7th

Directed and written by Michael Tully, DON'T LEAVE HOME follows an American artist's obsession with a disturbing urban legend that leads her to an investigation of the story's origins at the estate of a reclusive painter in Ireland. Think of David Lynch directing a Hammer horror film from the late 60's and you'll get an idea of what Mr. Tully has done with DON'T LEAVE HOME. DON'T LEAVE HOME is in theatres and on VOD today.

I had Leon on the show to discuss his film, what we can do westerners to do to avoid supporting sweatshop labor, and when we can expect him to make a romantic comedy.
