Feelings are Valid

One of the most frustrating situations we can encounter is someone telling us why we shouldn’t feel a certain way. Your feelings are your feelings. Whether or not they stem from real or perceived beliefs and truths, we all have them, and we can’t escape them. Feelings drive our behavior. Feelings can work for us, or against us. And we can choose not to judge them, but accept them for what they are.------------------Myers-Briggs Question Corner is the weekly MBTI career podcast brought to you by DC Metro Career Counselor Edythe Richards.Edythe is a Myers-Biggs Master Practitioner and founder of A Top Career - a web site which specializes in helping people back into work.Find out more at www.atopcareer.comOur Spreaker Podcastshttps://www.spreaker.com/show/the-journey-forwardhttps://www.spreaker.com/show/myers-briggs-question-cornerhttps://www.spreaker.com/show/myers-briggs-mid-life-career-changers

Challenges with Virtual Communication

As much as Zoom and other platforms have kept us working and communicating during the Coronavirus pandemic, there are still challenges - much like in the real world. Expectations of showing yourself on screen when your hair is a mess, strategically placing your camera so it doesn’t show your dirty laundry in the corner, and keeping yourself muted when you’re not sure who else is on the call or what the expectation is are just a few challenges we all face in virtual communication. Introverted types may feel these privacy challenges more acutely. Whether you’re a regular Zoom participant or host, this episode will provide tips for keeping everyone engaged.------------------Myers-Briggs Question Corner is the weekly MBTI career podcast brought to you by DC Metro Career Counselor Edythe Richards.Edythe is a Myers-Biggs Master Practitioner and founder of A Top Career - a web site which specializes in helping people back into work.Find out more at www.atopcareer.comOur Spreaker Podcastshttps://www.spreaker.com/show/the-journey-forwardhttps://www.spreaker.com/show/myers-briggs-question-cornerhttps://www.spreaker.com/show/myers-briggs-mid-life-career-changers

Zoom Fatigue during COVID-19

As social distancing remains in effect, we’re moving from one video call to another. Personality and Exercise

Edythe and David invite you to tune in and hear how the MBTI may – or may not – factor into our exercise of choice.Personality is a complicated subject. Although the Myers-Briggs measures personality on a 4 dichotomy scale, what really makes you tick is completely individual. This includes what type of exercise you prefer. Interestingly enough, the Myers-Briggs Company, who are the exclusive publishers of the Myers-Briggs assessment, did a study in 2018 on precisely this topic.------------------Myers-Briggs Question Corner is the weekly MBTI career podcast brought to you by DC Metro Career Counselor Edythe Richards.Edythe is a Myers-Biggs Master Practitioner and founder of A Top Career - a web site which specializes in helping people back into work.Find out more at www.atopcareer.comOur Spreaker Podcastshttps://www.spreaker.com/show/the-journey-forwardhttps://www.spreaker.com/show/myers-briggs-question-cornerhttps://www.spreaker.com/show/myers-briggs-mid-life-career-changers

Anxiety and Personality during COVID-19

Personality and Coronavirus

Carl Jung theorized that personality is inherent and changes very little over time. Yet we as human beings are constantly changing and adapting, as the recent COVID-19 pandemic has shown. These difficult times have presented us with a choice: we can choose to believe in our shared strength, respond with generosity, and become more resilient in the face of crisis. This cannot happen without awareness of our own strengths and blind spots. Tune in to hear Edythe talk about what part the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator plays in overcoming coronavirus.Previous episodes cited include:* Thinking and Feeling Misconceptionshttps://atopcareer.com/thinking-and-feeling-misconceptions/* Perceivers and Time Managementhttps://atopcareer.com/perceivers-and-time-management/-------------Myers-Briggs Question Corner is the weekly MBTI career podcast brought to you by DC Metro Career Counselor Edythe Richards.Edythe is the creator of A Top Career - a web site which specializes in helping people back into work.Find out more at www.atopcareer.comOur Spreaker Podcastshttps://www.spreaker.com/show/the-journey-forwardhttps://www.spreaker.com/show/myers-briggs-question-cornerhttps://www.spreaker.com/show/myers-briggs-mid-life-career-changers
