As the man trying to create a new Northern Ireland Gavan knows exactly what it takes to build a successful business and be the best you can, being able to not only survive but thrive is all about understanding how to respond to the highs and the lows, listen in and find out more. Fruit and vegetables – you are probably not eatingenough;Gavan has gone from food carnivore to plant-based vegan and in this episode reflects on the change and shares the reasons why he decided tomake thischangetohis diet. Gavan is someone who has a very restrictive pallet when it comes to new foods, only having rice and pasta for the first time when he was at university. The plant-based challenge began when Gavan really started looking at packets of ham! The gunk that is processed ham led Gavan to the decision that in order to change the diet of his family he had to be a human guinea pig and lead by example. Listen in and find out all about the journey. KEY TAKEAWAYS I started with meat-free Mondays – I didn’t even know it was a thing! I never ever thought I’d go completely meat-free – especially since I have such a narrow taste palette. The intensive farming and concerns about the planet were also factors that were beginning to bother me. I crafted an idea that if I could evi...

So WWIII Is Heading Our Way, Here's What To Do!

‘I’m trying to help you turbocharge your success ‘ The world’s only speed mentor is back and looking at how he was previously and how he is now - he’s moved from consumer to producer and its helped him move up to the next level. In previous years Gavan was a consumer of all news and he justified consuming and listening to it so he could say that he was making decisions in his business that were properly informed because he knew what was going on. He was the ultimate consumer of all news but now he reflects on how a twitter alert about the imminent start of WWIII no longer brings the same response in him. He’s made the move to producer and in this episode explains how he did it and why you need to look at what you can change and influence rather than pointlessly worrying about what you can’t. This is a great episode which will make you smile and think carefully about what you are - consumer or producer? KEY TAKEAWAYS I wanted to move myself to the next level to become the number 1 entrepreneur in Ireland and raise the GDP of the country like no other person ever had before The difference it made for me not listening to all the news shows was incredible and it freed me up to be able to move to the next level, which I had not been able to do before What you feed into your mind and subconscious through consumption of the arts and media and news works in the same way as the food you put into your body. Before I would have wasted the whole day trying to find out more, worrying about sh#t I had zero power to influence, to make go away or make better. The old me would have been consumed by the ‘news’ and wasted the whole day worrying and fretting. What I can do is make sure I have happy children, work hard on my business, work hard on myself, work hard on my marriage and pour my energy into creating a legacy I do have control of. Producers win and consumers lose In the past, I would have let myself be consumed by the sh#t and a few years on rather than consume and be consumed I’m using the experience to produce, to produce a podcast episode so that I can have a positive impact on others. This is stark evidence of my transformation from the consumer of other people’s sh#t to being the person who is only interested in working on myself and using what I’ve learnt to produce content for others. When you provide value because you are putting in the good stuff and producing quality for the world, that’s when the world repays your effort and everything goes really does 10x. BEST MOMENTS ‘I’ve had a lot of success in my life prior to clicking the final pieces of the jigsaw in place’ ‘I’m trying to help you turbocharge your success’ ‘Don’t do it the hard way like I did spending years working everything out. Listen to the lessons I have learnt along the way’ VALUABLE RESOURCES Speed Mentor Podcast Gavan Wall website ABOUT THE HOST Welcome to the Speed Mentor Podcast. Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone To Grow

‘Every f#king day I will be outside of my comfort zone!’ Gavan is back and getting up close and personal in this episode which follows 5 weeks of episodes where Gavan along with Andrew Cuthbert have shared how they are planning to positively disrupt the venture capital space in Northern Ireland with their new venture ‘The Change’. But as a hugely successful entrepreneur, the question Gavan is asking is; Why would I be jeopardising my good name by taking other peoples’ money and investing it, why am I taking all this risk? He has achieved virtually everyone’s dream having built a company he loves, which now only requires a light touch from him, providing him with the opportunity to do as he pleases for most of his time. So why is he not putting his feet up and relaxing on a beach? He’s working even harder because getting out of his comfort zone and taking risks is what gives him the ultimate buzz! Listen in and find out why you should be getting out of your comfort zone and getting comfortable with discomfort to grow in the next year. KEY TAKEAWAYS When you make a promise to yourself to be the best version of yourself you can be, it’s then about how you keep moving forward. We are living in a developed world and we probably have too much comfort. We expect and get all the comfort we want in our lives so getting out of our comfort zone is really alien to us. We have come to expect comfort wherever we are in the developed world. We demand it and find it difficult to cope when we don’t have it. You should be making 2020 your year of discomfort, you need to get comfortable with discomfort and grow. When you are wondering what the difference is between you and those that are slaying it and having massive success it’s because they live in the discomfort all the time. When you step up and deliver something that is outside your comfort zone the adrenalin hit is great and highly addictive. You can start with something small and know that by the end of the year it will be significant. BEST MOMENTS ‘We’ve made walrus island too comfortable for you, there is no more struggle on walrus island we take care of every need, there is comfort everywhere’ ‘Have you stopped pushing yourself?’ ‘Is this the year you are going to make everyone believe in you?’ ‘It’s a new decade so why not double down and make it happen’ VALUABLE RESOURCES Speed Mentor Podcast Gavan Wall website YouTube; The Change: Who The Change Invest In ABOUT THE HOST Welcome to the Speed Mentor Podcast.
