Engaging Worship- Ephesians 5:15-21

To have engaging worship at HBC, we need to... 1. Wake up (vs 15) 2. Wise up (vs 17) 3. Sober up (vs 18) 4. Speak up (vs 19) What does this mean for the church? * Liturgy is our answer to making the most of the time. * The planning of corporate worship is governed by God’s will, not our own. * The emphasis of the music portion is always congregational singing. * There must always be a balance of vertical (God-focused) and horizontal (encouraging and admonishing). * There must be a diversity of sources for songs. What does this mean for me? * Congregational singing is for every believer. * Congregational singing is an act of the will, the mind, and the heart * Stay focused on the task at hand. * Participation in worship is something that cannot be done remotely * Everyone sings songs they wouldn’t necessarily prefer. * Our testimony out in the world and our worship on Sunday morning need to be consistent.
