Do You Actually Like... Wine?

EWell the answer is yes, isn't it? Probably... But what kind of wine do you like? Are you a rosé all day kind of person, or a casual merlot with dinner kind of person. Perhaps you can't pass up a lovely chilled glass of sauvignon blanc (cough* Andrea *cough). Or is an obscure semi-sparkling German wine more your style (Brigitta, clearly). Whatever kind of wine it is, as long as you aren't offering us an oaked up buttery as hell chardonnay, we will probably be fine... And realistically, we will also drink a chardonnay butter bomb, we aren't that fussy. Oh and btw, that wine Brigitta couldn't remember the name of is Devil's Corner reisling, but unsurprisingly their pinot noir is also good.

Do You Actually Like... The Great Gatsby?

EThis episode was recorded before the current Black Lives Matter movement started and spread all over the world. We discuss a book written about a white man with no non-white characters (obviously because it is a book people are welcome to imagine the characters as they please, but come on, they are all written to be white) with undertones of racism and anti-antisemitism and gloss over that issue almost entirely. We recognize our privilege in our failure to discuss this topic more in depth. Certainly, when it comes to the theme of the "American Dream", my (Andrea) perception of it has certainly shifted from skeptical to a wider understanding of who it can actually be achieved by and the deeply false promise it makes to certain people (Brigitta has always been unbelieving in the American Dream and achieving anything through capitalism). F. Scott Fitzgerald seemed to be ahead of his time in his criticism of the American Dream, and as we all as a society are hopefully taking steps back to examine our future and how it is structured, maybe we can remember that these issues have been persistent throughout history and across countries.

Do You Actually Like... Star Wars I, II & III?

EOh the notorious prequels... The bane of most Star Wars fans' existence, and certainly not considered George Lucas's finest hour. But are they really all that bad? That is the question we ask ourselves this episode, along with several open ended WHYYYYY???????? type questions directed towards a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. SO what exactly are we talking? We are talking about Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Honestly it is a miracle Natalie Portman still has an acting career, so let's talk about it!

Do You Actually Like... The Royal Family II?

EHow fortuitous, that on the very day Queen Elizabeth II gives a historic speech on the coronavirus situation, you are also blessed with an update on our Royal Family related opinions. You truly are lucky! It was been an extremely big few months for the Firm, with news that is positive (not much of that news to be honest), a lot of news that is full of pros and cons (hello Harry and Meghan moving across the Atlantic), and some really shit news (Prince Andrew springs to mind, unfortunately). We give our opinions on the good, the bad, and the ugly - Brigitta has a lot of feelings and Andrea... well she tries to figure out who Princess Anne is and which Prince is married to the Queen. She'll get it one day.

Do You Actually Like... Podcasts?

EIt's our one year anniversary of podcasting so it's about time we really start to get meta on this thing! Are podcasts just the technological version of cats for lonely people? Do people who love podcasts just exist on their podcast loving high horse looking down at all the sorry people who just don't "get" them? Probably yes to both! Listen as Brigitta and Andrea discuss how they decided to start the pod, which podcasts they love the most, and whether or not Joe Rogan is a cult leader (spoiler: yes).

Do You Actually Like... Tiger King?

EThe man, the myth, the legend...but do we *actually* like Joe Exotic and the other wild characters of Tiger King? Should we? Should we really, or is there a global pandemic forcing people all around the world to watch a show about people who are definitely mishandling tigers? Andrea and Brigitta discuss the documentary that has taken over the world, just like Covid-19.

Do You Actually Like... Dating Shows?

EThere are those of us that hate to love romantic television and those that love to hate it. There are also those that would need to be in a state of quarantine for about a trillion years before even daring to watch one episode of The Bachelor. Those people probably need to chill out. Dating shows can be completely nonsensical, overly traditional, and apparently full of nudity. Listen as Brigitta and Andrea dissect the best and worst of dating/romantic television. And remember, these days podcasts are best enjoyed alone at home with freshly washed hands. Stay healthy!

Do You Actually Like... LEGO?

EOh nostalgia, isn't it just a hell of a drug... Take a trip down memory lane with us, as we talk all things LEGO. That's right! Those tiny colourful bricks you maybe haven't played with since you were a kid? That's what we are talking about today. And boy howdy, if you like facts this is the episode for you. I don't think we have ever done so much research! And just by the way, this is a fan requested episode - Hi mum! thanks for donating :) - so not only is it about LEGO, but it is also swearing free (if that is something you are into). So grab a minifigure and some bricks, and let's get stuck in!

Do You Actually Like... Skiing?

EIt's our winter themed episode! (Frozen does not count.) Listen as Brigitta and Andrea give a brief history of winter's most alpine sport! Or is it Nordic? Whatever it is, we definitely don't mean snowboarding. Make yourself a hot chocolate and cozy up to our episode all about this very specific "mode of transport".
