Whats Up DTLV Ep. 9 - Goldboot

Logan Lanning and Bobby Lucy were good friends before a blurry night of drinks and sharing music ideas that ended up taking Logans idea of Goldboot to the next level. I've had the pleasure of seeing Goldboot through its conception and having both Logan and Boby as good friends from the early days of the dark and dingy backroom of the Griffin to taking the stage at iconic venues in Las Vegas like Brooklyn Bowl and even playing the massive downtown music festival Life is Beautiful. We talk about how life has changed (or in some cases stayed the same) in the last few months dealing with the shutdown of the city, and how it has given them the opportunity to work on an immense amount of material with the intentions of putting together an album in the near future. Can't wait to see them play live again when this craziness settles and have a drink at our favorite dive bar to celebrate. For now stay safe Vegas!

Whats Up DTLV Ep. 8 - Dana Anderson

On this episode I get to talk to my long time friend Dana Anderson who I've seen build an empire of artists and creatives over the last decade in the heart of DTLV. Dana started I.S.I (Industry Supporting Industry) with his great friend and business partner Phillip Limon with the intent to bring Art to and music together in the form of pop up events around various venues in Las Vegas. Curating some of the finest local Las Vegas natives was a major part of the events which helped bind the art community in a new refreshing way. In doing so they gave creatives the chance to show and sell their works at large clubs and venues at unique events rather than just another art gallery or store opening. Dana's ever evolving sense of fresh ideas and innovative business sense has helped generate work for local artists around town in new ways the city had never seen the likes of before. I get to dig a little into how he got here, what they are still working on now during this pandemic and a little of what the future holds for his new endeavor Reapers Grip, his new skateboard grip tape company. Ps. **Please excuse the audio on this recording we've been redoing the studio and had to deal with what he had on hand at the moment

Whats Up DTLV EP. 7 - Indigo Kidd

Another episode I got to record before the Pandemic of 2020 hit with one of my favorite local indie bands Indigo Kidd (two ds). Transplants from east Washington (not like Seattle, think more Vegas landscape with a lot less going on) this band hits all the right notes when it comes to writing songs with feeling and true angst you hear through haunting lyrics and twangy guitar riffs. I stumbled upon them one blurry night at local favorite live music spot The Bunkhouse in downtown and was pleasantly surprised from start to finish of the show and have been a fan ever since. Eli also works at our local Coffee shop Mothership inside Fergusons Downtown so it was inevitable for me to sit down and pick his brain on his latest endeavors and plans for the future (once of course we are out of the water on this crazy time). Make sure you stay tuned till the end to hear one of their crowd favorite tracks titled "Nicotine Queen" off their album Sad Daze in Sunny Valley one of my favorite live tracks to hear them play out. Stay safe and much love!

Whats Up DTLV Ep. 6 - Uncle Vinny

We are switching gears and going to a podcast I got to record about a week before the word "pandemic" could be found anywhere within 2 seconds of browsing the internet. We travel to a much more fun time when I got to sit down with one of Downtowns staples in the Food Industry from my favorite Pizza Spot Good Pie. Vincent Rotolo has been feeding DTLV since his start on Fremont Street at another local favorite Pizzeria Evel Pie (the question of Good Vs. Evel has been answered within this recording!) and has opened his own spot in The Pawn Plaza making some of the finest Pies this side of the Mississippi. Vince's energy and passion are just as addicting as his pizza and anyone that has ever spent more than 5 minutes with his knows he is all about feeding the community through art, food, and love that you can taste in every bite! We get chat to a little about his downtown journey and his future plans that are already rolling out for Good Pie 2.0 in the Arts District! Yall Stay safe and much love!
