16: My mental health journey: Breaking the stigma with Rach

On this episode, I take you through my personal mental health journey. Breaking the stigma of talking about mental health is so important to me and I can't ask you guys to do something I haven't done myself. While I've always been an open book, I've struggled with shame and self consciousness around my mental health issues and this is the most vulnerable content I've ever shared. I really hope that in hearing my story and life experience, you realize that you are not alone. If you look at my social media from the outside and think I have it all together, you're wrong. I'll cover my life long battle with anxiety, my history of panic attacks and subsequent use of anti depressants to treat them, and I'll leave you with the coping mechanisms I've learned that have helped me the most. If you're struggling right now and need someone to talk to, my DMs and email are always open, so please don't hesitate to reach out for support or a friendly ear to listen. During the show, I reference my f...

On this episode, I sit down with Amy Ballantyne, a holistic health coach and busy mom of three kids, to talk all about health and nutrition for parents and children. 14: Overcoming limiting beliefs and nurturing a positive mindset with Nicola

On this episode, I sit down with Nicola Hatfield, a Success & Confidence coach who focuses on mindset work and goal achievement with her clients. She is my first international guest coming to us all the way from the United Kingdom! I love her accent almost as much as I love her energy and passion for her work. During the show, we discuss limiting beliefs - what they are, where they come from, and how to overcome them. If you feel like you're the only one who focuses on the negative, it's not your fault! Our brain's default programming is to see the negative and you have to make a conscious effort to override that. Nicola leaves you with some tactical advice to create and maintain a positive mindset, which I think we could all use a little more of right now. 13: Colon resection surgery and coping with major digestive issues with Bobbi Klein

On this episode, I sit down with Bobbi Klein, a motivational speaker and event marketer who loves to live life to the fullest. She's normally on the road traveling 90% of the time, but makes herself and her health a priority. A decade ago, Bobbi was suffering from unexplained weight loss, abdominal pain, and malabsorption of nutrients, but couldn't get an accurate diagnosis from a doctor. After a trip to the ER and prescription for pain meds, she was written off as "crazy." Not long after, Bobbi ended up in emergency surgery and had part of her colon resected (she was definitely not crazy). Following her surgery, Bobbi spent multiple years in recovery and talks us through the specific modalities she used to heal her gut and microbiome. We talk about her love of ice baths, the paleo diet, and the importance of your circadian rhythm. If you enjoyed hearing Bobbi's story and want to stay connected, you can find her at social @bobbiklein. FOLLOW RACH ON SOCIAL: @realhealthwithrach on In...

On this episode, I sit down with Jenn Kalchik, of Jenn and Tonic, to talk about her personal mental health journey. Jenn is super honest about her struggle with anxiety and talks about her experience with panic attacks, anti-anxiety medication, and therapy. We talk about how to communicate with those around you about your mental health needs, including your partner, friends, and even your employer. This year has definitely been anxiety inducing for me, and Jenn had to deal with the added stress of being furloughed and moving to a new state at the same time. Jenn shares the coping mechanisms that have helped her stay sane, centered, and grounded this year, which I know you are going to appreciate and implement in your own life!
