About Us

Cairngorms Community Radio, broadcasts a monthly internet programme, to the communities of Upper Deeside and Donside – an area in the heart of the Cairngorms. CCR is based in Ballater in Aberdeenshire and is a programme in the community, for the community - bringing news, views and conversation, mixed with some of the best music in the country. The team at Cairngorms Community Radio welcomes you to the programme and invites you to join them as they celebrate their home with a real ‘Sense of Place’.

Our special guest is Bothy Ballad Champion of Champions 2017, Hector Riddell – it’s a busy programme again – jine us.

In Episode 6 of CCR we are enjoying Burns Songs fae the new CD that was launched at the Glenmuick Kirk in Ballater. Songs from the CD were performed in the Kirk by the Aberdeen University Chamber Choir, under the musical mastery o the legendary Paul Mealor. We hear from Professor Mealor how the CD was created. All proceeds from the sales will go towards the Flood Fund. Our Community Spotlight beams onto Megan Albon organiseer of the ‘Dee and Don Ceilidh Collective’ and we enjoy the seasonal delights o the ‘tattie’ an stovies fae Monica’s Kitchen. We jist dinna hing aboot.

Elizabeth Stewart tells us about the history of the Lonach Gathering in Strathdon and Jessica MacIntosh guides us through the events planned in Braemar.
