About Us

Glen Burnie Community Connect is designed to connect all small and large businesses, schools, non-profits, county officials, and public servants together using the Help First mentality. Learn how businesses get involved in the community, how we help non-profits succeed, how we can support our public servants, and what the schools really need from the community. It’s about helping one another and being there for support. Where one group is struggling another group is excelling. Let’s connect and succeed together. You are going to hear from people from all walks of life in and around the Glen Burnie area. Entrepreneurs, CEOs, school principals, police, firemen, county officials, mentors, and the list goes on. These are people who are making a difference in the community for the better and we want to share what they are doing.

Episode 15 - Bailey Bennett – Need men from the community to step in and help

Bailey has been a teacher at Glendale Elementary School for the last five years and has always gone above and beyond for her students. She is one of the most generous, patient, and positive people I have ever met and shows it day in and day out. Bailey runs her school’s HERO Boys running club for seven weeks every Fall and Spring and does so off the clock. When I asked Bailey about the best part of her after school program she said, “having the guest speakers come in and talk to the boys about life” and when I asked her about her biggest struggles in the program she said “finding guest speakers come in to speak to the boys each week.” This is the case for about 30 other Elementary schools in Anne Arundel County where teachers are doing great things but need help from the community. Let’s help bridge that gap and support them.

Episode 14 - Joyce Heid – Giving you the tools to save a life

Joyce has been working in the healthcare industry for 25 years, but it wasn’t until May of 2017 that she decided to go out on her own and educate everyone on the importance of First Aid and CPR. Never knowing when you will need these tools it is every bit worth taking the course. As Joyce puts it, “If there is one person you really love and care about it is worth it.” No one wants to be in the position of NOT being able to help a loved one when the time comes.
