Fola Veritas, Registered Psychiatric Nursing (S2E10)

Fola Veritas is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) who has worked as a member of the crisis unit, in correctional facilities and as part of the safe consumption site team. We explore the working relationships between nurse and police force, patients, community members and dive into how her own views of support have emerged and are continuing to expand as she looks beyond the traditional methods (detox, rehabilitation) and the “this is how we have done it for decades” processes. Through her own spiritual emergence, she began to broaden her own perspective of holistic health and challenge the “traditional” definition of care and challenging how we define the unknown as “crazy” and to look beyond the discomfort to explore other realities and potential pathways. Her true calling of serving people going through a huge change with a focus on holistic wellness drives her to solutions for answers to the question: What other options are there?
