Live at Paste Studio captures some of our favorite bands and musicians playing in an intimate studio setting at the Paste office in New York. Recorded live, our musical guests play three songs and discuss their latest works with host Brad Wagner.

The Ballroom Thieves

New England folk-pop trio The Ballroom Thieves released Unlovely, their third LP that touches on political themes as well as personal ones, in February. They visited the Paste Studio NYC on release day to share four new songs with us: "Homme Run," "Love Is Easy," "Pendulum" and "For Hitchens."

Portland retro pop singer/songwriter Alexandra Savior popped into the Paste HQ to perform songs from her 2020 sophomore album The Archer, out now via Danger Mouse's 30th Century Records.

Theo Katzman

Fans of the shapeshifting funk group Vulfpeck will recognize Theo Katzman, a regular member among the band's rotating cast of talented characters. He has three solo albums, including Modern Johnny Sings: Songs in the Age of Vibe, which arrived this year. Katzman dropped by the NYC studio this week to perform a few songs from that record—and jam the hell out.

Saint Motel

Indie rock band Saint Motel, perhaps best known for their hit 2013 single "My Type," stopped by the Paste Studio in New York City back in February to play us some songs. They performed "Diane Mozart," "Sisters" and "Van Horn," all from a 2019 EP called The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack: Pt. 1.

Anthony da Costa

Indie folkster Anthony da Costa will release his new album at the end of March 2020. Feet on the Dashboard will be the singer/songwriter's first new full-length release since 2017. In February, da Costa stopped by the Paste Studio in New York City to play the title track from the new album, plus a few other new songs.

Beach Bunny

Beach Bunny, the Chicago DIY and pop-punk band fronted by Lili Trifilio, recently released their debut album Honeymoon to waves of praise, including from our critic Steven Edelstone, who wrote that the new album is "impossible to hate." The band stopped by our NYC studio late last year with a special preview of the record. They treated us to "Dream Boy," "6 Weeks" and an acoustic version of fan favorite "Prom Queen."

The full four-piece stopped by our NYC studio late last year to play two songs from the record, "Original Material" and "Looking For Some Light," plus a cut from their 2017 album Only The Lonely, "You Know It."

Late last year, singer/songwriter Victoria Canal stopped by Paste's New York City studio to play four songs. The Spanish-American artist played us a string of singles (she doesn't yet have a full-length release, but she has plenty of accolades, having toured with the likes of Michael Franti): "Second," "Drama" and "Favor," plus a mashup of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" and Canal's own "Ebony."
