She talks about her family history, emotional abuse of being raised by a narcissistic mother and a father who couldn't help much because he was in an inebriated state due to alcoholism. Jennifer felt the family home at age 17, shortly after that, her family was homeless and 5 of her siblings were in foster care. She knew she wanted to take custody, and at only 20 years old, she took the responsibility of raising 4 of her siblings. Often times, a person is unaware that she/he may be in an abusive and controlling relationship, until after they have left it. Such was the case for our guest, Jessica Cordova. She explains how she fell prey to a controlling, insecure boyfriend who first showered her with gifts at a very young age. Then as time went on, abuse began, and she knew it was time to leave him. Months later, and to her surprise, Jessica found out she was pregnant and her single mom journey began.
