About Us

An addition to the Pittsburgh Current Podcast Network, 'Current Condition, Late Night' focuses on current events and hot topics; sounding off on what’s happening locally and across the world. Hosted by Allegheny County Council Member at Large, Bethany Hallam, political consultant Erin McClelland, and Pittsburgh Current co-founder, Bethany Ruhe, all will be bringing their unique perspectives and, shall we say, strong opinions, to the table. “We are different enough that we don’t always see eye-to-eye on issues, but that’s what makes this so great,” says Hallam. “There is enough shouting into the echo chamber going on out there. We want to make you think.”“Imagine you and your friends sat down to talk. That’s the feel we are going for here,” said Ruhe. “Expect it to be feisty, fun and informative.”For her part, McClelland thinks the local landscape is in need of a way to make politics more accessible. “Political commentary is too often bloated by buzzed-up banter that caters to the political industrial complex and leaves the views of real people behind. This is about how real people are seeing politics and policy – nothing is sugar-coated here,” she said.
