Faith Friday #8: The Sacrifice Made For Freedom – Part One: Jesus Christ

As we begin this Memorial Day weekend, I want to remind all of my front porch family and listeners of something. Two entities in the history of mankind have made sacrifices for freedom. Faith Friday #8 is the first installment of a two-part podcast series which will discuss the sacrifice made for freedom by Jesus Christ. In Part one, we will be discussing the man who made sacrifices for our freedom and set an example for others in the future. That man's name is Jesus crossed Faith Friday #8 Introduction And thank you, Dr. Harrison, for that warm introduction. I am David Marks. The pontificator of common sense and your coffee connoisseur. Coming to you once again from Front Porch Politics Podcast. I want to thank all of you, my front porch family, for joining me for this very special two-part series on Faith Friday. So faith Friday #8 will be joined with another part that we will have on Memorial Day Monday. So Money Mondays is going to be scrapped. Instead in place of that, we will actually have a Memorial Day podcast for Monday. So in the opening, I explained to you that there have been two entities in the history of mankind that have made sacrifices for our freedom. And that freedom right now is, of course, something that all of us know is being put to the test. In the current situation we live in the first person that set the tone and set the sacrifice for our freedom was Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ and Freedom And for those of you who may not know anything about Jesus, you know that he is the savior, as considered by most Christians. Now I know that he's not accepted by all people in the world. And we know as Christians that's going to be the case even when he returns. But I want to bring something to your remembrance. See, freedom is never something that is just free. I know a lot of times that we really don't understand the full aspect of freedom in our country. Because sometimes we don't have to give a whole lot for it. However, this man Jesus Christ. He gave us freedom in more than just the ways that you and I think about sometimes. Now let me give you an example. You and I both, no matter for male or female, black or white, or in between poor or rich. We're all born with a sinful nature. And that sinful nature that's born in us is something that we carry all of our life. The sinful nature also is what condemns us to a destination called Hell. And I know this may sound a little preachy, but you know it is Faith Friday #8. Mankind and Sinful Nature Because of our actions, and our sinful nature. We had no way to have any kind of mediation with God. To pay back, or to try to earn our way back as we may think, into heaven. So God had sacrifices that the Jewish people conducted, and those sacrifices were to be in atonement for their sins. So when those sins were committed, there had to be a payment for that sin. And the sacrifice made via an animal was carried to the high priest sacrificed the animal in the Holy of Holies. And that would be the atonement. The sacrifice would be the eraser, if we can put it that way, for the sins that were committed by people. But the sacrificial animal was an example of something to come. It was an example of someone to come. Because even though those people would carry their sacrifice to the high priest. They would have to atone for their sins time and time again...

AOC Owes $2000 in Taxes But Wants To Raise Taxes On Everyone Else

If you have listened to this podcast at any point in time, you know that I am not a fan of Democrats, Socialists, especially AOC. Well, AOC is going to put ourselves back in the spotlight. The Democrats socialists who cry that corporations never pay their fair share of taxes and want you to pay more taxes up to about 70 or 80%. Well, she still owes over $2000 in back taxes. Podcast 170 will discuss Democrat Socialist AOC owes $2000 in taxes she will not pay while she wants to raise taxes on everyone else. Podcast 170 Introduction And thank you, Dr. Harrison, for that warm introduction. I am David Marks the pontificator of common sense and your coffee connoisseur. Coming to you once again from Front Porch Politics Podcast. Family, I'm so glad to be with you once again. Thank you for the overwhelming response you gave us on a Monday's podcast. I'm just overjoyed sometimes when I see that there are other conservatives that in our country who are sharing good information. We try to do the research. And covering that $3 trillion spending bill from Pelosi was something we needed to get to you. And we hope you shared that information. All that being said, today's podcast is a little bit different. Because we're going to get back onto a topic that sometimes the mainstream media will not cover. Most of the time they will not cover it, outside of maybe Fox News. AOC is someone who stays on my radar constantly because I don't trust her. AOC, Democrat Socialist, and Taxes I don't trust Democrats Socialists. I don't think they have the best interest of our country at heart. I want to refresh your memory for just a moment. AOC comes storming Norman into the House of Representatives as this champion of the people. And she was going to make companies pay their fair share. Because they obviously do not according to her. And neither do you. She was all part of a tax plan for the Green New Deal. Who wanted to spend $90 trillion on trying to save the planet from all of these evil people who drive gas-powered cars. And actually have, you know, lattes on in their house. But while she's wanting you to pay 70% to 80% in taxes, she's not want to pay her own tax bills. And this Democrat Socialist congresswoman from the Bronx still hasn't paid a seven-year-old tax bill leftover from a failed business venture. Now granted, I believe that you should pay your taxes. I think taxes are a necessary evil. And as the old saying goes, there are two things in life. Death and taxes, and they will remain. AOC Owes $2000 In Taxes AOC founded Brook Avenue Press. This was a publishing house company that sought designers, artists, and writers from urban areas. To help paint the Bronx in a positive way in Children's stories. So it was basically a big PR campaign for minorities who were in an urban area. They would write good stories about the Bronx, and this was all founded in 2012. I guess she was waiting on the Mayan destruction of the world to take place. So she just decided that she wouldn't pay her taxes. The New York state takes department filed a warrant against her now-defunct business on July 6, 2017. This being all before, of course, she ran for her office. And the tax bill was over $1,618.36.

Money Monday #9: Pelosi’s Plan to Bankrupt America with $3T Heroes Act

Socialist Democrats are trying to change America forever. One way they're doing this is by enacting acts that you will never hear. For the full details about one such act is the Heroes Act, which is a $3 trillion spending bill, which has been introduced and passed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Money Monday #9 will discuss Nancy Pelosi's crazy plan to wreck our economy & send the US hurling towards bankruptcy with her $3T Heroes Act. While she's spending $3 trillion of your money, this podcast will educate you on the socialist agenda that Nancy Pelosi and her House Democrats are pushing in. The Heroes Act Money Monday #9 Introduction And thank you, Dr. Harrison, for that warm introduction. I am David Marks. The Pontificator of Common Sense and your Coffee Connoisseur. I'm actually sitting here enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee as we were recording this podcast. Now, folks, in the introduction, I gave you a little bit information about what we're going to discuss on Money Monday. This podcast, maybe a little bit longer than typical Money Mondays. Which are around 10 minutes. So if you are expecting to listen in a short amount of time, then you may want to brace yourself because we have a great deal to discuss. I'm just going ahead and get to the point. Nancy Pelosi has decided to spend $3 trillion of your money. It's actually a little over $3 trillion. The bill that she has pushed forward as the "Heroes Act." Well, it sounds nice. It sounds like something that Americans love. We love heroes. The issue with the bill is that it doesn't really help out people with COVID-19 that much. There is money allocated to the states. But what this bill actually does is it actually just takes your money, and it shifts it towards putting our country in larger financial debt. Just to take care of her pay projects. Socialist Leftist Use American Ideas to Spread Their Bad Ideas This is one of the things that Socialists love to do in our country. They love to take American ideas like heroes, and they love to staple their bad ideas to it. Just to try to get the American people to bite. Well, I'm here to tell you this 1,815 page bill I don't buy. If you really want to help people in the health care industry. Or if you want to help states with COVID-19 relief, that's fine. There is a time when the federal government has to step in and do its part. However, the issue with the Heroes Act and Nancy Pelosi's bill is that they're taking all of their side pet projects. And they're trying to incorporate that and connected to COVID-19. So let me just give you a rundown of some of the things that they're going to be pushing for in this bill. By the way, this bill did pass the House last week. Not all Democrats voted for it, and one Republican voted for it. That was Peter King from New York. He wants to give us this big, long spill about how New York needs help. New York should have been balancing their budget a long time ago. But I digress. That's for another day. As I stated, the Heroes Act is also 1,815 pages.

Faith Friday #7: Be Encouraged To Rise To The Challenge Before You

Have you ever felt that you were faced with such a challenge that you couldn't overcome that challenge? Or possibly you felt like that? What is in front of you is so massive and so large that you cannot overcome that. What? We've all been there before and no doubt about it. People in our country and our face past have also been there. Faith Friday #7 will discuss how that we as Americans and believers should rise to the challenge that is before us each day. Podcast 168 Introduction And thank you, Dr. Harrison, for that warm introduction. I am David Marks. The pontificator of common sense and your coffee connoisseur. Coming to you once again from Front Porch Politics Podcast on this Faith Friday. I hope you folks have had a great week. I hope that you've been able to check out all of the new adjustments and the upgrades that we've made to our website. And we like your feedback. So be sure that you send us an email. Or you send us a message on our social media pages and just let us know. Now to the podcast at hand. Faith Friday is one of those times that I really get to enjoy that time with you, the podcast listeners. It gives me the ability to set politics aside for a moment. Even though that's what we want to discuss. Today I actually want to discuss how we can encourage you. How we can encourage you in your home, your family, your faith, and as a citizen of our country. We can all work towards making this country a better place. Why Faith Friday #7 Is Special to Me So faith Friday is just something very special to me. It's more of an opinion than it is sometimes the political side. Where we talk about news articles. But in the opening, I told you to be encouraged. Be encouraged to rise to the challenge that's before you. It doesn't matter if it's small in my eyes, or if it's large in my eyes. Every one of us faces challenges each day. The challenge that you face may be monumental compared to the challenge that I'm facing. Or the challenge that I'm facing maybe monumental compared to the challenge that you're facing. Regardless, we're all facing challenges, and those challenges that we have, we can make the decision which way we go. We can either decide to give up and to lay down and quit. Or we can decide that we're going to man up, or woman up. And that we are gonna face that challenge head-on. We want to take on whatever it may be. So in doing some research for this podcast and doing a little bit of reading, two things just kept popping across my mind. One biblical, one historical to America. David and Goliath The first person that comes to my mind is King David. And for many of you know, I share the namesake of this person. Of course, I've always loved the story of David Goliath. Goliath was an enemy of Israel. He was an enemy of God's people. Goliath, of course, was a brute, And many people feared Goliath, including God's people. As a matter of fact, and I'm paraphrasing. God's people did not want to fight Goliath when he challenged them. This young, small shepherd boy comes out of the wilderness and challenges Goliath. And of course, most of you know the story.

What Did Obama Know About Operation Crossfire Hurricane?

If I mention the name Barack Hussein Obama, most of you already had something in your mind that you think of. He is a former president of the United States. And to be honest with you, I don't feel like he had our country's best interest at heart. All of that being said, there is starting to be more and more evidence to show you how sketchy Barack Obama was. podcast 167 will asks the question, what did Barack Obama know about Crossfire Hurricane and a plan to attack General Michael Flynn & President Trump? Podcast 167 Introduction And thank you, Dr. Harrison, for that warm introduction. I am David Marks. The Pontificator of Common Sense and your coffee connoisseur. Welcoming you once again to Front Porch Politics. Podcast. So, folks, in the opening I ask you what you thought about Obama. And you already have your ideas in your mind. But let me carry that just a step further and give you another name, General Michael Flynn. General Michael Flynn was absolutely screwed over by the system. He was threatened with bankrupting his son. After he himself had already been bankrupted, and he had been shamed. The media had tagged him as this horrible evil person and a trader to our country. By people like James Comey, James Clapper, Peter Strzok, Bob Mueller, and Susan Rice. All of these people came out and started saying that this man, General Michael Flynn, who is a military career person. He's the one who is colluding with the Russians. The Obama Administration and the Media Different media outlets, even "The Spew," picked this up. Joy-less Behar read the story to her crowd as they clapped and cheered. Behar was saying that "Flynn was gonna flip. He has confessed that Trump had colluded with Russians and that they were going to all go down. Trump was going to be removed from office." This party lost the 2016 election, and they can not get over it. They want their ball, they want to go home, and then they want to deflate the one that you have at your house. These are terrible criminal people. There is no way around it. And former President Barack Obama knew all about what was going on with Michael Flynn. He knew about the whole situation, and now this is gonna be tagged as "Obama Gate." I even heard one commentator this last week say this was President Obama's "blue dress." That's a pretty good analogy. Because Obama's hands are all over what happened to General Michael Flynn. And with the illegal wiretapping. Obama Adminsitration and Illegal Activity So you may say, "Well, how do we know they illegally wiretapped?" Well, that's a good point because the Justice Department is conducting this investigation now. William Bar is now conducting the investigation. So in a potentially related document, acting director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell has declassified a list of Obama administration officials. Officials involved in the illegal unmasking of General Michael Flynn's former conversations with former Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. See, it's been alleged. Obama told former FBI director James Comey and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates of the intercepts of Flynn's conversations during a private Oval Office meeting. This took place in Obama's final days in office. Friends, I'm telling you, this was skeevy.

Money Monday #8 America is Set and Ready to Open Up and Go To Work!

Money Monday #8 | Podcast 166 It finally looks like we have some common sense people in our government who are making good decisions. Those decisions, of course, affect you and me, and those decisions are that they're opening up the state so that Americans can go back to work. This is essential. This is exactly what we've been wanting to do for a long time. Americans understand the importance of working and those who keep our country going, especially understand the importance of working. Money Monday #8 podcast brings great news as some of the states in America are opening open back up as the American people are ready to work. Money Monday #8 Introduction And thank you, Dr. Harrison, for that warm introduction. I am David Marks, the pontificator of common sense and your coffee connoisseur. Coming to you once again from Front Porch Politics Podcast. Friends, I have to tell you, I'm so thankful that you're part of our front porch family. We always want to invite you to go to iTunes and your other platforms and subscribe. We've been putting a lot of work into this podcast. We've done some hosting changes. And we've done some changes to everything that we're working on. So we're still a working progress. We want to thank you for that support. I have to give a big shout out also to my spouse. Who has always been super supportive in me doing this podcast. And who has also helped in all of the changes that I have tried to make. I have set up my podcast studio. If you want to call it that. I would call it a home office, but I have been a complete change. I've done a completely new set up. Everything is different now, and she was awesome in supporting me in getting new furniture. And everything that I've done and asked. She's been very own board and very supportive. So I have to give her a quick shoutout. Remember we are the united States Friends, as I'm sitting here and I'm thinking and I'm just very thankful. That our leaders in some of the states have finally decided to start loosening some of the restrictions. You know, I do feel like that this whole COVID-19 thing has been a test run. If you want to say it that way. I was talking to some friends in text messages this afternoon and we were discussing this. How people did what the government asks them to do. And now we're asking the government to do what we say. It's something that we need to remember as citizens of the United States. This is not communist China. Where the government owns everybody and tells everybody what to do. This is not some banana Republic. Although we've seen evidence of that with what happened to Michael Flynn. This is the united, smaller "u", states of America. Our founding fathers established a country that had never been seen in the world before. A country that loves its citizens enough to give the citizens power over the government. That's something that I think we lose focus on. Some State Leaders are Making Smart Decisions Many times part of the power that we have in the freedom that we have is that we get to work at our choice at our time. That was until COVID-19. When COVID-19 took place, all of the workers in America started to do what the government ask us to do. But eventually, we have to get back to work. If we're gonna have anyone paying money into the tax system. And if we're gonna have money to spend as a government, we have to have people working and paying in taxes. Now,

Blue State Death Rate is 2.9x Higher From Coronavirus Than Red States

Podcast 164 | Blue State Death Rate Coronavirus still keeps everyone shut down, and it's still keeping everyone at home. I found an interesting article that I wanted to share with you guys. And in sharing this article, I want to give you some statistics that I found very, very interesting. You have a higher chance of dying from Coronavirus if you live in a blue state compared to a red state. Podcast 164 will discuss Coronavirus statistics that show blue state death rate is much higher than other states controlled by conservatives Podcast 164 Introduction And thank you, Dr. Harrison, for that warm introduction. I am David Marks. The pontificator of common sense in your coffee connoisseur. Coming to you once again from front porch politics podcast on political Wednesday. You know most of you do. We have gone to a new format. Where we have Money Mondays, Faith Fridays. And this, of course, political Wednesdays. So to give you just a little bit of information about our introduction in the title of this podcast. We have definitely seen a difference in what is taking place in a lot of different states. Many of you know, states are in lockdown. And as a matter of fact, there was a salon owner today who was arrested and sentenced to seven days in jail. And she has to pay a fine for opening her shop when the order said that she should stay closed. The only state that I see where there is a difference here, is the state of California, in the facts we want to give you today. Blue State Death Rate So there is a story from spectator.org. Writer named David Catron. And the article that he has given is Coronavirus deaths the most predictive factor. And the reason why I bring this to your attention. Is because of what our introduction gave you. That your chances of dying from Coronavirus are actually extremely higher in a blue state compared to a red state. Let me give you an idea of why it is. If you live in New Jersey, you are 13 times more likely to die from COVID-19. Greater than if you live in the state of Florida. And I know what you're saying. "Well, people in New Jersey are packed on top of each other." That is true. People in Florida have a little bit more wiggle room. This proves the point that when you put any group of people in a congested area together, you're asking for diseases to be spread more rapidly. This is why I don't believe the stats that come from China. New Jersey Death Rate Compared to Florida All that being said, the New Jersey death rate per one million is 8 95.2. The death rate in Florida per 1,000,000 is 65.1. So it is 13 times more likely to kill you in New Jersey than it is in Florida. Now, this could be because of Florida's governor. Ron DeSantis has resisted the draconian stay at home orders imposed by a lot of Democratic counterparts. Now again, California hasn't seen the full effect. But if we're just being honest with each other, California probably saw a lot of this virus come through already. So let's give you some of the numbers, shall we? Because I do think that's important. You may think, "Florida and New Jersey are not a good comparison." Okay, New Jersey had has extended their stay at home order indefinitely.

Faith Friday #6: God Gives Us All Grace, Even On Our Bad Days In Life

Have you ever had one of those days? When nothing goes right, the harder you seem to try the worst. Everything seems to get, and you just feel like you're working yourself into a hole. Well, that was yesterday for me, and no doubt it was a long day, and I've always heard the old saying, When it rains, it pours. But even on those days, we confined God's grace faith. When it rains, it pours. Even on those days, we can find God's grace. Faith Friday #6 will discuss how to see God's grace and love on bad days. Faith Friday #6 Introduction And thank you, Dr. Harrison, for that warm introduction on Faith Friday #6. I am David Marks. The Pontificator of Common Sense and your Coffee Connoisseur. Welcoming you once again to Front Porch Politics and this special Faith Friday. You're probably like me, and you experienced those days when nothing seems to go right. It seems like from the minute you wake up, you know it's gonna be a bad day. And whether it be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Or it's just mentally you can't get with it. Whatever it may be, you may just be tired. You have that day that you just can't do anything right. Thursday was that day for me. And at the end of the day. I'm sitting in my living room talking to my wife. Who was so gracious and so kind on my worst of days. And I realized how much God really loves me and how many blessings I actually have in life. So to give you a precursor, I know that we're pretty serious on the podcast sometimes, but sometimes we're not. The Start of a Bad Day I am a jovial person by nature. I love to laugh, cut up, and have fun. So typically, if I have a bad day, it's very few and far between. But I, like many of you, are working from home. And the day just started out with a bang. With a couple of phone calls, I wasn't expecting. And so that just really, really rattled me. It just started the day off bad. To build this story further. Not only do I love to do podcasting and working education. But I also have my hand in several other things. And a very good friend of mine and I have started a new venture together. Part of that venture that we have is we are producing our own honey. So we have honeybees. And I'll get to this in just a moment. So just keep that on the back burner. We had gone to see a very good friend of mine. While we had a good visit. After we were going to go work on our bees Thursday afternoon. We go out and we check on our hives, and we have an issue with one of our hives. After we closed everything up, we had to put our suits back on. And go back out to the hives again. The Stings of Life As working on the hives, we opened them the second time. They were very, very mad. I mean, those bees were angry. They were swarming us like crazy. One of the issues with the suit I have is that it is just a jacket. Of course, it has the hood, and the face covering. But it's still open at the bottom. I was wearing my favorite overalls that I love to work in. And, of course, my beekeeping jacket exposed a vulnerable area under the bottom. Here is where the bees flew up into my jacket and started to swarm my face. So I'm tearing out, running across a pasture, trying to get the jacket off. As I'm getting stung multiple times on my head and on my face. I tell you that story because I felt terrible. I mean, the day had started out awful. The day had ended awful. It just seemed like nothing at all had gone right...

Faith Friday #7: Be Encouraged To Rise To The Challenge Before You
