INSIDE A VIRTUAL SEX PARTY WITH LILA DONNOLO

We already know that due to the COVID pandemic, it’s not currently safe to attend a crowded restaurant. It’s not safe to attend a busy gym. It’s not safe to attend large religious gatherings. So…it’s almost certainly not safe to attend an orgy. What’s a sexually adventurous person to do? Attend one online? That’s right, thanks to the pandemic, some folks are now opting for video platforms such as Skype, Zoom and FaceTime for their orgies. UK-based, high-end sex party club Killing Kittens hosted a 100 person orgy online in March complete with burlesque performers, a cage, a live DJ, and 100 masked members. But, despite the fact that they are having a moment, Zoom, is not exactly thrilled with this burgeoning use for their beloved platform. They announced earlier this year that they were going to crack down (no pun intended) on “unacceptable use” and use machine learning to detect sex parties and nudity. For research. Totally. SWINGING WHILE BLACK

When you think of swinging, what’s the first image that comes to your mind? Some key party in the 1970s? Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in masks? A suburban couple revealing their lifestyle on The Oprah Show? I’m going to assume all of those images in your mind have one thing in common. Everybody is white. If you’ve been paying attention you know it’s already dangerous to be driving while Black. Outside a store while Black. Voting while Black. Riding a train while Black. Sitting in your car while Black. Wearing a hoodie while Black. Walking in your neighborhood with a friend while Black. Minding your own damn business inside your own damn apartment while Black. But when it comes being a swinger…do Black people really do that? Yes they do. And for some…it can be, well, interesting. On this episode, I talk to one half of a “rarity” in the swinging community: A Black couple. Pursuing the lifestyle of their choice, both he and his wife have experienced all sorts of interesting comments, rejections and flat out fetishization. My guest discusses what it’s like to be at a sex party with Trump supporters, the crazy expectations or blatant racism they encounter on swinger dating sites and also the historic implications of being a Black man watching your wife have sex with a White man. Everything you think you knew about the lifestyle is about to change. If you'd like to contact my guest Mink and his wife Andy, check out the swinging lifestyle site Kasidie.com and search for MinkandAndy. At the very least, you know it's going to be a funny night. Here's my Medium.com story about the night I dragged my husband to a swinger party for work. It did not go well. It’s important to remember that the racial awareness that's happening right now in this country is not just some trend and we must keep working to educate ourselves and help put an end to systemic racism. White people need to better understand our part in this country’s deeply rooted racist past and the millions of ways we’ve benefited from it without even realizing. There's a lot more work that needs to be done. Please don’t ask or expect Black people to educate you. You have to listen, learn and do the work yourself. Below is a brief list of book to read that will help you better understand centuries of systemic oppression much better. Please do your part to support Black artists, Black-owned business, and try to use your platform to amplify Black voices whenever you can. How to Be an Antiracist/Ibram X. DATING PREFERENCE OR RACISM? WITH DAMONA HOFFMAN

It seems to be one of the last bastions of unchecked racism. “I’m looking for someone special to spend the rest of my life with. Someone kind, loving and adventurous. Together we’ll create a perfect life where we’ll explore the world, always be there for each other and bring out the best in each other. No Black men.” Whaaaaaa? Sure, is it well within your rights to be completely honest about what you absolutely want or don’t want in your dating profile. Even if it’s, like, 100% totally overtly unmistakably racist. To this day, blatant racism can be found all over dating profiles and it’s not just for haters. There are other folks who are known ONLY to date certain races other than their own. Asian Women Only! Ummm, I suppose that could be considered flattering…until you realize that some of those searchers may only be interested in fetishizing you. Either way, making these demands can turn dating into a pretty dehumanizing experience. To walk us through all of this, is Certified Dating Expert and Writer Damona Hoffman. Host of the highly successful Dates & Mates Podcast, Damona is a dating profile whisperer of the highest order. The product of an interracial and interfaith marriage herself, Damona is uniquely qualified and trained to address racist messaging in dating profiles. As Damona says in our interview, “We are in a time where everyone is waking up and realizing that the way we have been operating is racist.” Yep. There’s also a good chance that there’s some unconscious bias at play with most of us. Maybe what you’re looking for in a potential partner is based on where you grew up, who you met in school or how the media portrays certain groups and amplifies dangerous racial stereotypes. The bottom line is, dating is a numbers game. If you only want someone from a very, very, very narrow group, you’re probably missing out on a lot of potentially fun and groovy people. Curious about your own unconscious bias? Take this quiz available on Tolerance.org to test yourself for hidden bias. As they say, “Your willingness to examine your own possible biases is an important step in understanding the roots of stereotypes and prejudice in our society.” If you’re searching and have an open mind, the perfect match just might surprise you. To enlist expert help at finding that someone special, reach out to Damona or follow her online @DamonaHoffman I’d also be ever so grateful if you’d subscribe to Sex Ed The Musical and leave me a 5-star review here. DATING PREFERENCE OR RACISM? WITH DAMONA HOFFMAN

BLACK AND KINKY WITH SHANAE ADAMS

In a world that routinely shuts down, dominates, gaslights, harasses, and demeans people of color, you’d think Black folks would not be interested in power play. Well, you would be wrong. “But I never see any Black folks in the kink world!” Maybe that’s because when we see representations of kink in movies, online, on the “adults only” magazine rack behind the slushee machine at a gas station, we typically see 50 shades of white people. Sadly, we exist in a world that treats whiteness as a default. Orrrrrr, when you finally do see people of color, it’s often because they’re being fetishized by white people. What if you are a person of color and you want to engage in a little kink? Is that going to be even more difficult than getting served some motherfucking eggs at Denny’s? Hopefully, not. On this episode, I get the lowdown on accessing pleasure, and the Black kink scene from therapist, educator and sex-positive enthusiast, Shanae “HonestlyNae” Adams. Shanae is on a mission of sexuality normalization, explanation and melinated representation. Known for leading dynamic workshops, a sex-positive mindset and eliminating taboos, Shanae takes me into the world of Black kinksters. We talk about being an ethical Domme, the unique healing properties of kink, how to make sure you’re in a safe kink space, and how diverse groups are embracing their sexuality and finding deep pleasure through exploring hierarchical relationships and the dynamics of power play. Shanae also offers really amazing tips for all of us to learn how to access and then demand pleasure. Hint: It doesn’t involve sex. At first, anyway. I’m so grateful that Shanae introduced me to a world about which I knew absolutely nothing. Her deep understanding of opening yourself up to pleasure and the healing properties of kink are just a couple of the reasons why Shanae is a “go to” expert in the world of sexuality. Want to learn more about your favorite things? Start listening to new people. To work with Shanae or find out about her upcoming seminars, check out her website, HonestlyNae.com. Check out the Sex Down South conference to see if you’d like to attend. Use Shanae’s discount code SHANAESDS and save 20%! Here’s The Nap Ministry mentioned by Shanae. BLACK AND KINKY WITH SHANAE ADAMS

HAPPY LOVING DAY!!!

Did you know that interracial marriage was illegal in 16 states until June 12, 1967? 1967! On this episode, I reveal why I’ve been hiding behind my privilege for the past two weeks and why the anniversary of this landmark ruling finally inspired me to step forward to do what I can to help support the cause. The Loving v. Virginia ruling personally affects my own life. Why? Great question, thanks for asking. My husband is a Black man. Sooooooo, in my lifetime, my marriage was illegal in 16 states. Listen to find out which states in our country were clinging desperately to their “good old days” when enforcing systematic racist laws was just part of the fun. Now I realize that this podcast has always been about the pursuit of sexual authenticity and stepping away from judgment at shame. But there is a lot of shame attached to doing nothing to help others. I’m not here to play white savior or to tell you something you don’t already know. I don’t have things figured out. There’s plenty of things I’m going to get wrong. But doing nothing is the biggest mistake of all. White people, please do not ask your black friends to explain racism to you. That is not their job. The information is out there. You can be an ally. You can help effect change. YOU have to do the work. You need to educate yourself. DO NOT EXPECT THE OPPRESSED TO SET YOU FREE. Time Magazine offered these links for books to read and movies to watch to help you better understand the horror of institutionalized racism and how, thanks to government sanctioned redlining, for every $100 in wealth that a white family has accumulated in America, black families have $5.04. $100 for white folks. $5.04 for black folks. This is not an accident and it’s just one example of glaring injustice. There are places where you can donate some of your wealth to support the cause. Black Lives Matter You can also support organizations committed to ending mass incarceration such as the Equal Justice Initiative Help support the National Bail Fun Network, a network dedicated to being an organizing tool aimed at ending pretrial and immigration detention. A memorial fund has been established for George Floyd. You can donate through this GoFundMe. You can donate to Breonna Taylor’s family through this GoFundMe. Support Black Owned Businesses. New York Magazine put together a comprehensive list here. Bon Appétit has compiled a list of Black Owned Restaurants in numerous areas that you can support. To help protesters, you could provide childcare among other things for those attending rallies. You can sew masks to protect protesters. Letters For Black Lives offers a set of crowdsourced, multilingual, and culturally-aware resources aimed at creating a space for open and honest conversations about racial justice, police violence, and anti-Blackness in our families and communities. We are at a critical time in our history. You can say, well I certainly had nothing whatsoever to do with this discrimination, this really doesn't apply to me at all. I am woke! Okay, well good for you but, if you are a white person, this is very much your problem right now. Injustice that has plagued this country for centuries, injustice deliberately created to destroy, torment, and enslave people of color must end now. Understand and acknowledge your privilege. You might mean well. You might consider yourself enlightened. A good person. You may despise racism in every form. However, if you are white, you are still part of the problem. The time is now to become part of the solution. Illustration by Addison Wright

ONLINE SEX THERAPY WITH DR. SHANNON CHAVEZ

Necessity is the mother of invention. According to the interwebs, this proverb was first said by Plato. Or Frank Zappa. Or a cartoon, crime-fighting squirrel. Okay, it doesn’t really matter who said it originally, cause I’m not paying any royalties to anyone. The fact remains, it’s true. Because right now, as millions of us remain sheltered in place, confused and overwhelmed, we’ve needed to reinvent many things, including how we can access professional help. So, if you were smart enough to become a licensed therapist who sees clients online, YOUR BIG DAY HAS ARRIVED! On this episode, I speak with one of my very favorite sex and relationship therapists, Dr. Shannon Chavez, who is doing an amazing job helping folks who are struggling with issues that are exacerbated by these uncertain times. We talk about several things including: What happens when a global pandemic shuts down your sex drive? Can I be single and still see a sex therapist? How to cope with touch deprivation. What’s the best way to handle a partnership with vastly differing sex drives? What really happens with a sexual surrogate? Are online sex parties a thing? That maybe I can attend? Am I required to have sex right in front of my sex therapist? She answers these questions and so much more. Dr. Chavez, a nationally-recognized expert in all things sexuality, works with men, women, LGBTQIA folks and couples in her very busy private practice in Beverly Hills. She has an amazing way of disarming the shame associated with sex and offers really smart solutions with no judgment attached. You can schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Chavez here and find out more about her practice and the Sexual Health and Pleasure Enhancement Center. Dedicated to helping people overcome sexual concerns and break free from the stigmas surrounding sex, Dr. Chavez offers individual and couples therapy, sex therapy and coaching, and sex education. She hosts workshops, lectures, and community events on sexual health. Dr. Chavez is a Licensed Psychologist and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. SEDUCING YOUR INNER CRITIC WITH ALLANA PRATT

There’s that voice in your head. That voice that can be very critical of you at the worst moments possible. We do all sorts of work to try to control that voice. Silence it. Take control of that voice and shut it down. Well, according to acclaimed Intimacy Expert Allana Pratt, that strategy is completely backwards. In this episode, Allana Pratt reveals that we need not to silence or to kill that voice, but to seduce it. Make love to that voice. Let it know that it’s being heard and that it’s wanted and safe. I know! This goes against everything I’ve ever tried but, full disclosure, I’ve had very little success controlling that inner critic so clearly, I have been doing things all wrong. (That last comment courtesy of my inner critical voice). Sit back and open your mind as I interview openhearted, unapologetic, learned and incredibly saucy intimacy expert and certified coach, Allana Pratt, who shares that Intimacy is an Inside Job. Surviving a few messy breakups of her own, and after 20 years of helping singles and couples, Allana has discovered that most intimacy struggles boil down to a few common blind spots that once healed, allow vulnerable, authentic relationships to survive. Working with men, women, couples and singles, Allana fearlessly leads you through the fire of your own inner critic, leaving you in a yummy pile of ashes so you can rise like the Phoenix and own your own power. We get into all of that and so much more in this very interesting conversation. Instead of silencing, how do you seduce your inner critic? How can you move past the devastation of heartbreak? How can you use your vagina to get free bacon at a restaurant? Okay, that last piece of advice is from me, but it’s still quite powerful. Check out this conversation and stay for the amazing advice she gives at the end about self-care in these uncertain times. It will help you get through the long and nerve-racking nights. LET’S HIT THE LINKS! Read Allana Pratt’s blog posts here. Check out Allana’s YouTube channel with intimacy breakthrough videos here. Discover your Intimacy Blind Spots here. Contact Allana for coaching here. Read my Medium post that’s pretty much exactly opposite of Allana’s advice, here.

THE TOP 3 SOCIAL DISTANCING SEX PRODUCTS YOU NEED RIGHT NOW

NEWS FLASH! It’s not just disinfecting wipes, toilet paper and all-purpose baking flour flying off of the shelves right now. Retailers all over the world are reporting that sales of sex toys have spiked over the past two months as people are looking for new ways to find comfort and stress relief during their self-quarantine. Some countries are seeing sex toy sales buzzing with increases over 200%. What do those buyers know that you don’t? Well, first of all, masturbation is the ultimate in social distancing sex, right? But, there are actual health benefits associated with dialing your own rotary phone. Orgasms keep your happy place happy. Blood flow keeps it supple and regularly running water through the pipes is essential to keeping plumbing in tip top shape. Orgasms offer pain relief. If you’re someone who suffers from menstrual cramps or the occasional UTI, you know that buzzing one off can give you some serious, all-natural pain relief. (This content is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.) Orgasms are good for your heart. Sexual activity and orgasms can reduce stress thanks to the surge of oxytocin, the "love hormone" that occurs with a happy ending. According to the science people, orgasms can also lower blood pressure levels in women. Orgasms help you sleep better by releasing endorphins. Having a couple of months of insomnia lately? Having an orgasm before bed may be the perfect cure. There’s a good chance you literally have nothing better to do right now. Now that you know masturbation can be a critical part of your self care regimen, perhaps it’s time to get a helping hand? (pun intended) HERE ARE MY TOP THREE SOCIAL DISTANCING SEX PRODUCTS THAT YOU NEED RIGHT NOW! THE MAGIC WAND RECHARGEABLE THE LEGEND. THE O.G. THE CLOSER. With 4 intensity power levels and 4 vibration patterns, this wand delivers magic every time. It offers unparalleled power and deep, penetrating vibrations through its firm massaging silicone head. Plus, apparently it’s also good on sore muscles. Who knew? There’s a reason why this was the most-requested pleasure product but the professional sex-havers I worked with at Playboy TV. Trust me, they know pleasure. NO MORE WET SPOT PLAY BLANKET As they say on their site: “Put it down before you play, when you're done, all the "fun" is in the blanket. Then, just throw it in the wash when you're ready!” YOU GUYS, think of this as lining a cookie sheet with parchment paper or your slow cooker with one of those simple clean up bags. Yes, not exactly sexy imagery, unless you get turned on by Pot Roast. Not judging. You do you. This brilliant product is the perfect sex/fluid barrier to throw down on top of your $700 duvet cover. Have all of the fun and cleanup is a breeze! Plus, if you’re trying to learn how to squirt, the problem might be that you’re worried about your ridiculously high thread count sheets and the ensuing wet spot. Worry no more friends! Just throw this blanket UNDERNEATH YOUR BUTT (available in three different colors) and then let go! When you’re done, toss it in the laundry and sleep on your perfectly clean and dry sheets. No evidence left behind. Also great for Hotel Sex, Car Sex, and Silk Isfahan Area Rug sex. Manufactured by kindly Canadians in three colours, you need this! Get one today, eh!

NEWS FLASH! It’s not just disinfecting wipes, toilet paper and all-purpose baking flour flying off of the shelves right now. According to the science people, orgasms can also lower blood pressure levels in women. Orgasms help you sleep better by releasing endorphins. Having a couple of months of insomnia lately? Having an orgasm before bed may be the perfect cure. There’s a good chance you literally have nothing better to do right now.
