TADS - 5/7/17: New Zealand faces health ultimatum

Three out of five Kiwis admit to skipping brushing their teeth for up to a week. New research suggests young adults are the worst at maintaining their oral health. TADS - 28/6/17: Suicide

An Oamaru woman who lost her son to suicide says the government's draft suicide prevention plan is "spineless". Patrice Harrex presented a Public Service Association submission to the Ministry of Health in Dunedin today on its draft Suicide Prevention Strategy. In April, the ministry started consultation on its 10-year plan to decrease the number of people who commit suicide each year - currently it's more than 500. The ministry's director of mental health, John Crawshaw, said government agencies would look at the feedback and provide advice for the incoming government after the 2017 General Election.

TADS - 21/6/17: Pike River = the real story

Almost half of all Kiwis support sending people back into Pike River Mine to look for evidence, and to potentially recover bodies. In the latest Reid Research poll, 45 percent support the idea, 35 percent say no and 20 percent don't know. The poll was taken after footage was released last month of two men working safely in the access tunnel, but before new video was released on Sunday showing no sign of an inferno at the coal face. But the issue of mine re-entry remains politically divided.
