About Us

Bob MacDonald is a writer and former addictions councillor. His son Rob (aka Jay Malone) is a comedian and artist. The two of them meet up once a week to delve into a topic near and dear to both of them: the process of recovery. Whether you're recovering from substance abuse, compulsive behaviour, or just a devastating life event, this podcast will be examining some of the common principles that can be applied by anyone, no matter what their struggle, in order to help get life back on track.

After attending a treatment program it is very important to find a healthy group or a guide to help a person take the knowledge and techniques they've learned in the program and put it to use in their own life. After care is about doing the work and enhancing growth in order to affect a positive change in the recovering person's environment. Bob introduces the concept of a 'healthy' addiction, which for a moment, blows Rob's mind.
