TIC Podcast Episode 019: The Absent Boarder

There are many challenges associated with running a boarding facility and having to cope with absent owners. For a variety of reasons, these boarders rarely get to the barn to see their horse, and so the care of the horse is almost fully in your hands. Although there are advantages and disadvantages to each of these absent boarders, they can take their toll on managers. As always, a perspective shift can really help when tending to these owners and their horses, and making sure that you as the manager don’t get too caught up financially or emotionally in a horse that you didn’t commit to as its owner in the first place.
