Security cameras now can be used for much more than just maintaining a view of your inventory and the showroom’s front door. Sud Bhatija, who is one of the founders of Spot AI, which is striving to make visual data instantly useful and accessible to everyone, appeared on the Auto Remarketing Podcast to detail how security cameras and artificial intelligence are combining to help dealerships improve sales and service.

How a piece of technology goes from an initial idea, through development to a product launch can be a winding path. John Nethery and Oscar Nunez shared their personal experiences on those past and present journeys for this episode of the Auto Remarketing Podcast. The two executives from insightLPR, a technology company providing proprietary license plate recognition (LPR) software, hardware and data products to help companies and communities increase their value and safety, also shared how quickly the firm is gaining traction since an industry launch about a month ago during the North American Repossessors Summit.

EBlock chief executive officer Jason McClenahan returns to the show, this time for an in-person interview at Canada's Used Car Week last month at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. Jason and Cherokee Media Group senior editor Joe Overby talk about EBlock's expansion and much more.

Subprime Analytics president Ken Shilson appeared again on the Auto Remarketing Podcast to discuss what he thinks is one of the most important operational challenges buy-here, pay-here dealers are going to face before the end of the year. It’s implementation of the Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) accounting standards. Shilson offered recommendations for how both BHPH dealers and their accountants can get organized in order to comply with CECL, which goes into effect on Jan. 1.

The pandemic and its subsequent aftermath gave Alex ‘SkipGuru’ Price another opportunity to examine human behavior and its application toward skip-tracing and vehicle repossession. The director of training and development for LocateSmarter, a data and analytics company, also explained how new technology can be blended into the mix of collections and recoveries.

Senior editor Nick Zulovich spent part of his time in Denver for the North American Repossessors Summit sharing another conversation for the Auto Remarketing Podcast with Jeremiah Wheeler, who is president of DRN and MVTRAC. In light of inflation pushing up the costs of gas and other life necessities, Wheeler offered insight stemming from company data about how much consumers are looking to relocate.

For our monthly installment of the Auto Remarketing Podcast focused on fraud, Justin Davis and Frank McKenna of Point Predictive recapped the roundtables they orchestrated in conjunction with the Non-Prime Auto Financing Conference hosted by the National Automotive Finance Association. The roundtables included representatives from captives to related finance companies at buy-here, pay-here dealerships as well as shops of many other sizes and footprints. According to Davis and McKenna, they all have the same objective in the fraud department.

We wrap up our series of podcasts recorded during this year’s Non-Prime Auto Financing Conference hosted by the National Automotive Finance Association with a visit with Joseph Cioffi, partner with Davis + Gilbert who also runs the Credit Chronometer. Cioffi discussed where risk is now percolating and how finance companies are handling it.

Jim Johnson, who is vice president of account planning at VDX.tv, joins the show to talk about the role of connected TV in automotive, the changing landscape of video advertising, how that applies to automotive and much more.

Jason Barrie, chief operating officer of Digital Air Strike, and Erika Maley, director of marketing for Don Hattan Dealerships, join the show to talk Google vehicle ads and their role in dealership advertising and vehicle merchandising
