Idema Cerney was found murdered in the Mojave Desert in 1932. After identifying her using Bertillion measurements it would be a short time before investigators honed in on a suspect, her husband, Gus Cerney, a gin runner during prohibition. To bring justice in this case they tracked Cerney across the United States in a manhunt that finally ended in Chicago, Illinois.

On March 15th, 2022, Justin Peoples, father of two and Navy veteran, was shot and stabbed to death at a gas station in Tracy California. Brett Thomas and Mark Titch went on a crime spree in Orange County, CA in 1977 that ended with several violent home invasions, the murders of Laura Stoughton, Ephraim Christian, Aubrey Duncan, Denise Duncan; and the attempted murder of Nadine Duncan. In December of 1976, Janet Stallcup disappeared in Garden Grove, CA. After an extensive search she was found murdered in her car just 2 miles from her home. The search for her murderer lasts over 40 years and includes possible connections with other murders in the area. In 2021, this crime was finally solved by genetic genealogy. In this episode, we discuss the crime from the moment she went missing to the day investigators finally had the answer to this mystery.
On Nov 3rd, 1981, Marcy Conrad, a 14-year-old 9th Grader at Russell Junior High School in Milpitas Ca, decided to ditch her afternoon classes and go hang out with her friend, Anthony Jacques Broussard, a 16-year-old who went to Milpitas High School. From this decision, Marcy will lose her life and not be found for 2 more days. This story, because of what happened in between Marcy’s Death and until she is found, became a national discussion that inspired a Hollywood movie and took extreme paths which seemed to lose sight that a 14-year-old girl, who had a future ahead of her, lost it all.
