Today I speak with IFBB Pro Nicole Tan, who is from Australia but was born in Singapore. She works as a personal trainer and online coach. She competed in 11 shows before turning pro at the Arnold classic in 2019. She was set to do her pro debut in 2020 but it was cancelled a week out. After that, she tried many times to prep and compete but shows kept getting cancelled and the Australian borders were shut. Finally this year, she got to make her pro debut at the Australia Pro show and headed to USA to start her pro journey! She has been married for 35 years. Before she found bodybuilding, she was a long distance runner and never stepped foot into a gym. She met her coach’s wife and owner of the gym she trains at a health fair who persuaded her to come check out the gym. There are only seven 60 year old IFBB pros in the US, which makes Jenean want to be an inspiration to those who feel being healthy is not obtainable. Today I speak with Brooke Petry, an IFBB Pro Bikini athlete, wife, and mom of 3 daughters, who currently lives northwest of Chicago. She earned her B.S. in Retail/Fashion Merchandising from Bradley University, and worked in the world of corporate buying for 5 years before she decided to be a stay home mom. She started bodybuilding in 2017, at age 36. Body building has given Brooke the tools and motivation to have a healthy relationship with food, exercise and her body. Her experience with anorexia left her believing that she needed to hide anything that might look like she was dieting or exercising because she had been so extreme before and everyone was watching her.
