We had so much fun on our first Disney Afternoon, that we polled our patrons on what to watch for a second round! We watched and chat about the pilot episodes: Darkwing Duck "Beauty and the Beet" (Sept 9, 1991), Gummi Bears "A New Beginning" (Sept 14, 1985), and Talespin "Plunder and Lightning Part 1" (Sept 7th, 1990). Tell us which show you enjoyed the most and which classic cartoon we should cover next at @ITDVPodcast on Twitter!
Another Friday, another freaky body swap here in the vault as we're joined by Ray Lowe (@rayasunshiine on instagram). This time, it's a MUSICAL! We bop to the swap as mother and daughter switch bodies and learn to find common ground. But OF COURSE, in traditional body swap form, it's not only the day of mom's wedding rehearsal dinner that she's planning herself, but ALSO Ellie's big scavenger hunt that's led by her CRUSH. Will the two find a way back to themselves both literally and metaphorically!? Will mom's wedding happen!? Why are there so many antique shops in this town!? Tell us your thoughts @ITDVPodcast on twitter.
We're joined by Eric Michaud (@theaterbear on instagram) as we enter into ANOTHER musical franchise! It's— you guessed it, Romeo and Juliet, but this time it's ALSO an allegory. Our Zombies face some nasty discrimination in a town that fancies itself perfect, yet is actually so closed minded that it won't accept a character who...has white hair. We are also unsure of what zombies actually are... because these zombies are different from what we thought zombies were. From how they're created to how they behave (even before they use z-bands)...we're confused. Please explain to us what zombies are @ITDVPodcast on twitter.
You voted and we made a minnie Disney afternoon! We discuss the pilot episodes of DuckTales (1987), Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers (1989), and Gargoyles (1994). Tell us which show has the best theme song and which shows we should cover next @ITDVpodcast on twitter!
We return to Aurodon with Oman Najam (@OmarNajam) to check in on our quartet of villain children as they get used to life at their new school. Mal's having doubts about her new life, while some truly rotten to the core kids on the Isle of the Lost have big feelings about being left behind. Some great dance numbers and a Hook style pirate fight ensue and we're left on a cliffhanger as Ursula's daughter Uma teases that this still isn't the end of the Descendants' story! Tell us which couples you ship on the ship @ITDVpodcast on twitter.
We go happily ever after with Sammy Smart (@sammyyysmart) to watch a movie (?) about what happens AFTER Tangled (2010) and BEFORE Tangled: The Series (2017). We hang with some old characters, meet some new ones, and mostly wait for something exciting to happen. Tell us what storylines you think should have been included in this petite transitional film at @ITDVPodcast on twitter.
Never met no-BOD-y...like YOU! Yet we HAVE met a fantastic moment in time where tamagotchis thrived and boy bands ruled our hearts. Fortunately, not much has changed since 2002, when Turning Red is set. Meilin is changing...but not in the way most 13 year old girls do, she becomes a giant red panda. Although her relatives fight to tame Mei's panda, she and her amazing friend group have a little fun with it and invent a moneymaking scheme to fund their trip to see 4*Town, the hottest boy band since...EVER!??!?!? Tell us how many more 4*Town songs should have been featured @ITDVPodcast on twitter!
It's a body swap, y'all and fortunately Jason Saenz (@jasoncsaenz) is here to dissect this simple story made bonkers and confusing. Old cell phones act as totems which accidentally SWAP Ellie and Jack's bodies. GET THIS, they each have a big event coming up that is IMPERATIVE they do well for. Fortunately the pair figure out pretty quickly the mystical magical logic that they have to help each others' lives to improve their own and do some real healing. Tell us what your totem would look like @ITDVPodcast on twitter.
We have a ton of kids to babysit this week, fortunately Voice Actor Triya Leong (@triyp on instagram) joins us to help break apart one cRaZy night! A remake of the classic 80s film, this movie offers not one but TWO babysitters! Jenny and Lola both find themselves babysitting on the same night, not before long, the two households combine to go on an all night adventure where everything that can go wrong DOES. The two sitters do all they can to take care of the kids, while not letting on to their parents that many many many things have gone awry that require parent attention. Tell us your craziest babysitting stories @ITDVpodcast on Twitter!
We're going back to the 90s when Presidents and their kids were all the rage in movies! Duncan really wants a date and Hallie really wants to get away from her Secret Service detail. Duncan manages to run into her and has NO idea she's the first kid (not to be confused with First Kid (1996)) and asks her out. An exciting night of hijinks ensues after they eschew the suits. What hors d'oeuvres would you snack on? Tell us @ITDVPodcast on twitter.
