It’s time for the Manchester United Weekly Podcast’s season review of 2021/22. In this two-parter, we’ll first be looking back at the campaign just gone, our favourite moments - and there were some - goals and players. We’ll consider, with a bit of hindsight, where it went wrong for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and then where it went wrong for his interim successor Ralf Rangnick. We’ll compare the 21/22 defence to that of the season before, and the same for the attack, considering how the team’s style changed under Ole and then Ralf, and we’ll talk about a flurry of departures.Note: We ran out of time to really dive into how much we love Juan Mata. What a great man. He will be missed in Manchester and at Manchester United.TIMESTAMPS00:00 Intro01:00 Favourite moments of the season (yes, there are some)07:00 This season v the Moyes era (a miserable question to ask)10:20 Worst moments of the season14:10 Goal of the Season16:10 Player of the Season18:25 Where did it go wrong for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?26:40 Where it go wrong for Ralf Rangnick?34:00 Reviewing the defence - in comparison to 2020/21 - including set pieces and a new high-line43:00 Reviewing the attack - in comparison to 2020/21 - including left-sided dominance50:30 McTominay’s development (or lack thereof)52:45 David De Gea56:00 Departing players (with a primary focus on Pogba)1:01:30 Outro See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Harry Robinson takes you through a full FA Youth Cup final preview, from the history of the competition, United's 10 past victories, the make-up of this squad, what the players like behind the scenes, the staff working with this group and plenty more. He also answers questions from Patrons on the Academy and loans.Regular co-host Jack Tait is away this week and no one wanted to talk about Saturday's game (or presumably listen too) so we're skipping over that... for now. We'll come back to more depressing first team matters soon, but for now, here's to supporting the young Reds! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Scott McTominay apologised to Manchester United's travelling support at the Emirates. And too right. United were rubbish again and lost. The second half performance was one of the better showings of recent weeks, but that's more down to how bad the team has been in other games. United lost 3-1 and look set for the Europa Conference League. Hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait reflect on all that, the debut of a referee's microphone in the WSL and give a youth, loan and women's round-up with news of a Monaco trip for the U23s, four clean sheets in a row for one young 'keeper and further Champions League disappointment for Marc Skinner's team. If you want to skip straight to the normal analysis, head to 09:00 (10:00 with ads). After talking Anfield, they answer the following Patreon questions:Reed BlazerWith the number of players that look set to leave this summer, it seems like we may need to rely on some academy players playing a role in the first team.Which players do you think have the best chance of breaking into the first team next season? The two that I would like to see are Hannibal and Laird, possibly Garner as well.Korey LennoxDon’t really want to speak about the match if I’m honest. Reports are coming in of a “revolution” this summer. Could be 6 to TEN new players coming in. How realistic do you think this is and anyone, in particular, you’d like it to be?
