MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU is an animated comedy in the DESPICABLE ME franchise. In the movie, Gru is a boy who longs to be a supervillain. Gru wants to join the Vicious 6, but they tease him because of his young age. So, he steals the Zodiac Stone from them. Furious, they chase after him, but Gru gives the stone to a minion, who loses it. Will Gru find the missing stone, or will the Vicious 6 destroy him?
HALLELUJAH: LEONARD COHEN, A JOURNEY, A SONG is an interesting documentary about Leonard Cohen, the writer of the popular song “Hallelujah.” The song has graced the soundtrack of several major movies, including two MOVIEGUIDE Award winning animated movies, SHREK and SING. The movie contains many interviews of Cohen over the years. It also contains concert footage and interviews with friends, several album producers and engineers, Cohen’s rabbi, a music journalist who’s interviewed Cohen many times, and other musical artists.
WATCHER follows a married couple named Julia and Francis after they move into an apartment in Bucharest. Francis is comfortable in their new surroundings, but Julia struggles to feel at home. Her discomfort turns to paranoia when she starts to believe a man in a neighboring apartment watches her through the window. After Julia learns of a serial killer who decapitated a woman in their apartment complex, she’s convinced her stalker’s to blame. So, she decides to keep tabs on him instead of the other way around. Will Julia’s paranoia save her life or ruin her marriage and turn everyone into her enemy?
ELVIS is Director Baz Luhrman’s fictionalized version of rock star Elvis Presley’s career and life. The movie focuses on the Pentecostal and black musical roots of Presley’s career. It also focuses on his relationship with his parents, his controversial manager, Colonel Tom Parker, and his wife, Priscilla. The movie is narrated by Colonel Parker, who’s played by Tom Hanks. Except for some recreations of four or so songs during his Vegas career and a notorious performance of “Trouble,” the movie only has snippets from some of Elvis Presley’s biggest hits.

An adventurous rabbit named Peter is looking for treasure but finds an orphaned baby who’s half chicken and half hare. Growing up, Chickenhare loves and admires his adoptive father, who’s become king and continues to go on adventures. Chickenhare wants to join the Royal Adventure Society, but he fails the test. So, he decides to find a long-lost artifact with magical occult powers. However, his father’s brother is also trying to find the treasure so that he can steal the father’s throne.

INTERCEPTOR is a military action thriller on Netflix. Captain J.J. Collins is a female military officer on a base located deep in the Pacific Ocean. STAY PRAYED UP is a documentary about an 83-year-old gospel singer in North Carolina, Lena Mae Perry. The movie focuses on her commitment to the Lord and the career of her and her gospel group, The Branchettes. The movie follows Lena as she rehearses for a special gospel music recording at a local church. It contains performances of gospel songs while Lena talks about her career and what faith means to her. The movie asserts that gospel music “has the tendency to go where the Gospel cannot go, because the Gospel is the power unto salvation.” Lena says, “The Lord has blessed us, kept us and given us the strength that we need to do what we need, and we are happy, so, so happy.”
JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION brings back the leading cast members of the first JURASSIC PARK movie. Scientist Ellie Sattler, paleontologist Alan Grant and mathematician Ian Malcolm team up to expose a large, shady biotech firm. The firm has re-created an extinct species of large locusts that’s eating all the world’s crops except for the corporation’s modified ones. Meanwhile, the same firm has sent some thugs to kidnap the baby of Owen Grady’s trained raptor dinosaur. They’ve also kidnapped Owen and his wife, and Claire’s adopted daughter, Maisie. The two situations turn out to be related. So, the five heroes all team up together.
