Here is the final installment of The Beat Oracle. It is also the final mix for our “Slowly” series. It is a collage of hushed, sometimes drowsy sounds. For this reason, the duration of the show will be uninterrupted by voice. For a satisfactory listening experience we recommend finding a comfortable pair of headphones or a nice stereo, and a quiet place. Thanks to all our listeners for your time and support over the last two decades. Peace. Playlist Download Drifting Beyond
This is the final regular transmission from the Beat Oracle. Thanks to all of our listeners new and old – we hope you discovered some great music during this run. Much has changed in the past twelve years, but the world of Future Music has remained as engaging and stimulating as when we first started recording. This episode pays tribute to the roots and essence of the show, with classics from Warp records, Ninja Tune, Mo Wax, City Centre Offices, and so many other labels and artists that have become fused within our DNA, and have provoked joy while challenging our ideas about music and sound. Please enjoy the over 500 episodes in our audio archive, and stay tuned for one last addition to our Slowly Series. Thanks again for joining us with open ears and minds. Cheers! This edition is a bittersweet tribute to our beloved radio show and a testament to a lifelong love of future music. Kenny Lectro has gone by many names in the past and here he revisits a few fond monikers while keeping things current with the music. Showcasing new discoveries such as Roland Tings, Antenna, Benjamin Frohlich and Neon Chambers amongst familiar artists like Underworld, Robag Wruhme, Ross From Friends and Synkro; the DJ with a Thousand Faces consults The Oracle one last time. Best listened to at the highest volume possible while wearing the brightest clothing in your collection! Thanks for all the support over the years. Playlist Download 01/08/2020

This edition is a special mix from longtime Beat Oracle contributor Wagga Man. It’s about home; where we’ve lived, and what it means to return. It is a steady, uninterrupted flow of gorgeous beats throughout, including newer releases from Lapalux, Clarian, Robag Wruhme, Jesper Ryom, Four Tet, and many more. Whether you’re traveling for the holidays, or staying put, we hope this mix will find a place in your home. Thanks for listening! Playlist Download 11/26/2019
It’s been a moment since the last edition (If you haven’t checked out Michael’s 20-year retro, it is a must-listen!), so this mix is all about catching up on some great releases, both old and new. Showcased within are some stellar new releases from Teebs, Men I Trust, Chromatics, Bonobo, Special Request, Carla dal Forno, and many more. Out of the archives come tracks from The Durutti Column, Burger/Ink, The Fall, Kraftwerk, and tribute is paid to two lost talents in Ras G and David Berman. It is an epic trip that hopefully splashes a bit of color and beauty into your ears. Thanks for listening! Playlist Download 11/02/2019
In this episode I look back on producing The Beat Oracle for 20 years. The mix includes 20 songs chronologically placed from each of those years. I’ve included show notes below describing each song’s selection and placement in the history of the show. That show lived up to its tagline, “The Broadest Beats.” It was one of the first radio shows that I streamed online from the UK that opened my mind to a whole world of underground music. On any given week Solid Steel featured hip-hop, electronic, dub, ambient, soul, funk, and everything in between. They had a lot of guest DJs, but I got most excited when DJ Food would step up to the decks. Kaleidoscope, released in 2000, showed off an extraordinarily deep library of musical inspiration through use of samples across many genres to create someth...
This edition starts on the mellow side and ramps up to some infectious and abstract beats perfect for summer days or nights. New releases dominate the agenda, with standouts from Erika de Casier, Thom Yorke, Lusine, Move D, Floating Points, and DJ Python leading the way. Touches of introspective pop from Mor Mor, Men I Trust, and Keep Shelly In Athens add a bit of sparkle to the mix, while Call Super and Special Request continue to challenge and delight with their own special brand of Future Music. Best played loud and careless. Thanks for listening! Playlist Download 07/14/2019
This week’s episode is a reflection on walking. In particular, walking through hot days and cool nights with special ones nearby. The show starts with new music from Yagya and quickly moves into a collage of rock and hip-hop including new tunes from Flying Lotus (featuring Little Dragon), Com Truise, JETS, and Big Thief. The second half of the mix highlights electronic and ambient music including new releases from Plaid, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Robag Wruhme, Prins Thomas and a special remix by Burial. This week’s edition is near and dear to the heart as a majority of tracks derive from two all-time favorite labels: City Centre Offices and Morr Music. The pinnacle of these labels came in the early 2000s, and left an indelible influence on The Beat Oracle and (more importantly) electronic music as a whole. In addition, this episode features five-related projects from Danish trio Future 3, as well as a slew of new releases from the likes of Lena Raine, Com Truise, Tim Hecker, Fennesz, Yagya, and more. The episode was conceived of as an ideal soundtrack for transit of some kind, but works just as well at home, melted into a sofa. Please enjoy and thanks for listening and supporting algorithm-free music curation. Playlist Download 05/18/2019
