Sometimes you can talk about what you're doing, but other times you can't. And they're just like- they can't relate to it until they see it all in its fully formed thing." - Tony Fadell Highlights from the show: How building innovative products starts with building yourself Continuous self-education as a modality for career growth Why pain is the best place to start building from The Importance of Parenting, Empowerment Read more about Tony's journey and check out his new book, Build: tonyfadell.com Enjoy! --- Today's episode is brought to you byCreativeLive. In this episode, I answer two popular questions. The first question I don't get asked enough, but I've certainly thought a lot about: how do balance career, exercise, and creative time. While this can be different for everyone, I share a few key aspects I've learned over the years including how I protect my self-care routine. Next, Dylan called in asking about how to manage two similar but different passions. We're all multi-hyphenates. Our passions have many layers and explorations. However, clients for one passion may not be the same for another. We get into how to manage it and at what point does it make sense to combine all your work in a single portfolio. I've been taking your questions on whatever is holding you back and getting in between your goals. It's part of an ongoing series I started on YouTube, called Daily Creative. If you want to submit a question, text me directly: 206-309-5177. --- Today's episode is brought to you byCreativeLive. CreativeLive is the world's large...

Everyone wants a mentor, the wise little green creature who will teach us how to swing a lightsaber and use the Force. I was no exception when I started out in photography. I thought someone was going to take my outstretched hand and guide me along the path to greatness. They’d tell me what to learn, how to learn it, and what to do once I’d done so. As I’ve progressed along my creative path and become a person whom other aspiring photographers ask to serve as their own mentor, I’ve come to realize that mentorship as we think of it is a pernicious fairy tale. In this episode, a few things I've learned about about finding a mentor. Enjoy! --- Today's episode is brought to you by CreativeLive.
